BenQ FP241W 24" inch problem with HDMI connection

When hooked up to a Denon 1940 DVD player via HDMI my BenQ FP241W does not receive any signal, the screen stays blue. Have tested with another HDMI cable and have the same result. Have tested the Denon with another screen via HDMI and it worked. Denon will work with BenQ through standard video connections. BenQ did receive a signal through HDMI from a Panasonic DVD player although it wasn't possible to configure the settings properly. Any ideas?

Re: BenQ FP241W 24" inch problem with HDMI connection

Sounds like the HDMI port on the monitor has been shorted out.
There are very small fuses on the video board that can be changed, but they are fiddly and you may end up doing more harm then good if you are not sure what your doing.
The fuses are actually soldered to the's not a case of pop one out and pop one in like the glass type.

Hope it helps =)

Did you change the HDMI cable? If so, you should check to ensure you have the cable installed so it is running the right direction. It may seem hard to believe but some HDMI cables only allow the signal to run in one direction.

Speaker in/speaker out not working

Are you feeding the monitor via an HDMI connection? HDMI carries digital audio as well as digital video signals. If using DVI or VGA to connect it to your PC, there is no audio being fed to the monitor, so nothing can come out, unless you have a separate audio cable running to the monitor as well from the computer :o)

Want to use BenQ m2700HD monitor to watch a movie. The movie is playing on a LG DVD player. I have used a yellow video lead from the DVD player in the past but it will not work on the BenQ

Not sure why it does not work, do you get message 'NO SIGNAL' on the screen?
You can try using component video instead of the composite video (yeallow RCA) which will give you better picture since it will be in the progressive scanning mode display.

Can i connect a dvid cable from the monitor to my flat screen tv hdmi to watch videos from my computer? Thank you Martin

the Flat Screen TV if has, a HDMI input, also has VGA Input.

You must choose :HDMI or VGA, if HDMI The VGA board must Have HDMI Connector, and you connect a HDMI cable to the TV.

The HDMI is a digital signal input/output, VGA is Analog Signal. You must have Signal Converter if you Use the 2 signals

If your TV is a higher quality set that is HD capable, the problem may be in using RCA jacks. I suggest buying some component video cables. Some higher quality DVD players and TVs do not respond well to cheaper video feed wires. The only other option is a problem with the DVD player since the picture is coming through fine through other DVD sets. Try the wires first, its your cheapest option.
