Re: second harddrive

If you are adding an IDE hard drive make sure that the Jumper is set to slave if sharing with another device on the same cable if SATA just plug it into a free SATA input and configure the SATA as IDE in the CMOS settings but most importantly check the CMOS settings that the Hard drive is picked.

Re: second harddrive

Make sure its jumper is set as slave, if you have a 40wire ribbon cable, and cable select if you are using a 80 wire ribbon cable, if it is on the same ribbon cable.
If it is on the second ide cable, by itself keep it as master.

You can call Asus and buy a new CD at 1-812-282-2787 US.

M2n-mx se plus with amd64 5200 automatic shut down

it might be a bios problem. Check that your harddrive and cdrom are set correctly too. For example if your harddrive is set to master and your cdrom is set to slave, change the cdrom to master and harddrive to slave and see if this helps.
