CLP 510 very light print

Hello,

I have been using the ClP 510 for a few months for very light home use. All at once it started printing very very light, almost unreadable... I thought it was a toner issue so i replaced them all. It still does it...

Since it is installed on a mac there are no software options to check or settings to change.

Any ideas of what else could need changing/cleaning..

Thanks!
Alex

    Still nothing,

Tried changing all the cartridges and also changing the imaging unit (transfer belt)... still nothing. The component you mention is still there and looks good..

any other ideas? I tried resetting to see if its software related but no luck...

    HELP!!!

Hi,
I had same problem of light printing and I solved it by cleaning High Voltage Power Supply(HVPS) circuit board. My background is electrical,so I tried and got success. Please note that this board has high voltages and Precaution is required to handle these HVPS. Goodluck.

Hello guys i post earlier, that i have the same problem. My father have exact printer, so i flip Toners, Belt, Imaging. Same shit, prints too light on my printer with his parts, and prints ok on his printer with my parts. So i called Samsung they said that probably its worming up, and printer out of warranty SHIT.

Just to determine the problem could you tell did you use color glossy laser paper? Becaue i did and they told me that this printer is not designed to pring on color glossy paper but there were no worning about this.

In the end I changed everything possible and it still printed exactly the same. I rang Samsung and as it is out of warranty, they said it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

On top of it as the model is no longer available I know have new toner and rollers for a machine that I will likely have to throw away!

What a mess!!!

Did anyone do anything to the printer immediately before the problem started ??

The description of the printout is typical of what you get whenthe transfer roller (black foam roler with purple plastic lugs on the ends) is either not in the printer, or not fitted properly.

Open the duplex door (opposite end to the toner access door, and you should see this component. If it's missing (or damaged) they are available on EBAY.

There are other possible causes such as

dirty (toner contaminated) contacts on
Toner cartridges
ITB (Transfer Belt)
Imaging Unit (OPC Drum)

This can also be a faulty Drum, faulty ITB, or a fault on the HVPS board

I have a pc and a macbook pro. I can duplex print on the pc but cannot seem to duplex print on the mac using word 2011. How do you duplex print using a mac and printing with a Samsung CLP 510 EMAIL

To print duplex on a Mac:
1. After finishing your document, go to File >> Print. You will see something like the following:tcdb28.png
2. Make sure that Layout is selected: tcdb28_0.png 3. Under two-sided, make sure than Long-edged binding (or something similar) is turned on. tcdb28_1.png

This will allow you to print duplex (two sided) on the Mac.

Samsung CLP 510 just replaced transfer belts, imaging unit and fuser but now am getting what looks like wet spots on the prints

Hello,

Some toner may have spilled in the printer. If so, you will need to clean it out. Also, the toner cartridge may be defective and letting too much toner out at one time, the solution is to replace the toner cartridge.

Take care.

My Samsung clp 510 printer won't print in color. How can I fix it??? I just installed a new black ink toner cartridge and now it's not letting me print in color. About a month ago I replaced the color...

I had a similar issue with my 510. My printer would only print in b&w regardless of my settings in the printer setup. I uninstalled my printer driver and reinstalled a fresh one from disk. This cleared up my issue.

Why does the Samsung clp-510 color laser printer keeps defaulting to black and white print out when printing color images?

Well one thing you should do is when your printing something out before you print make sue that you have selected color not black and white because most printers have a default setting to use black and white. Also make sure that you have color ink available to print.

CLP-550N problem with MacOS 10.4.7

Don't know if this would work:

from: http://www.macintouch.com/tigerreview/incompatibility.html

"I have one and have just finished preliminary testing. I have a CLP-550N and use the network port to connect the printer to our wired network. Using Bonjour (a.k.a. Rendezvous) does not work. I can successfully setup the printer, but it will not print. LPD, however, does work fine. You may need to reinstall the PPD files from the CD, or download them from there (sic) website." Brad Scheider reports: "Samsung no longer supports a CLP-500 driver. But I've found that the CLP-510 Driver works in Tiger and fixes many problems I had with the CLP-500 driver on Panther. Works great now."

Samsung CLP-510 not printing?

Most probably you are using an USB cable that is either too thin (cheap cable) or too long (beyond 6ft.).
