Re: downloading video

The video recorded on some camera's may put the audio out of sync. That sounds like what has happened with you. If the sync is always off by lets say 2 seconds, you can fix this by taking the video footage into an editing system and you can align/adjust the audio to match the video. It's a little extra work, but it will fix you problem.

Good luck

Cant play downloaded video files on my windows xp laptop

Jenny stef t:
On page 77 of the user manual for your camera (click here for user manual), it states that the movie format is "MPEG-4/H.264, Audio: G.711 [Monaural]". The easiest way to play these types of movies on your Windows XP machine is to download and install QuickTime for Windows.
Download QuickTime for Windows (click here for download) and save it to your Windows Desktop.
Once downloaded, double-click on the downloaded file on your Desktop and follow the directions to install QuickTime on your Windows XP machine.

After you've installed and completed any reboots necessary, you should then be able to double-click on the video files from your camera and have them play automatically on QuickTime.

Thanks for using FixYa and please feel free to ask follow-up questions.

Video clips

Is the RAM the same on both computers? Sounds like one has less RAM and therefore not enough processing power to run the video smoothly.

Videos will not play, only audio will with realplayer.

Use a card reader to download your videos to a folder you create on your desktop. Then open the folder, right click on the video and choose what program you want to open it. Quicktime is a good choice. If you don't have it, it's a free download.

Codex error when downloading to PC

The answer to question one is that there's no problem with your camera, its a setup problem with your computer which should be easy enough to fix. Go to (stands for combined community codec pack) and click on "Download Windows Vista/XP/2K". Once it's downloaded it, run it and click next, yes etc to everything that it asks you, then once it's finished restart your computer. Hopefully once this is done you'll be able to see your videos :)

My videos will not play on my mac. I hear sound but see not video. Just a black screen. I have the disk that came with my camera. But it fails to load properly.

I am unfamiliar with Mac but I imagine the solution is the same as for PC. the program your trying to play the video from the camera on needs an update. Go to any internet search site and type in "AVI CODEC DOWNLOAD" and then the name of the program your trying to view file on.
Once you download and install the new codec it should work fine.
