2002 Jeep Liberty. Oil light comes on and off whenever it wants.Had it to 2 repair shops and they cannot find cause. One was a Jeep dealer . They claim they checked the wiring ok. The Jeep dealer stated that the common cause is the wiring but they could not find it .Still comes on at random . They claim they even checked the oil pressure and it is ok. Help ! Caryn Cafa.

I had a similar problem with a cherokee. It was a faulty wire grounding to the frame. If you have a working sensor and no trouble codes and your engine has not grenaded due to no oil pressure it is a wiring problem. You may want to try putting a meter on the sender and checking the resistance when running to verify pressure. Put the appropriat signal artificially with the correct resistance on the wire and see if light comes on. There is a range of resistance to ground for various pressures if it is a one wire sender. If your sender has more than one wire I would have to look up the function of the wires to determine a test procedure.. I have a friend with the same jeep. I will look at his.

My Elna Supermatic only sews on slow speed now. Why?

It appears to be an older mechanical machine. Has a thorough cleaning and oiling been performed on it? These old machines need frequent oiling with fresh good quality sewing machine oil to keep them running smoothly. The fact that it is slowing down, indicates to me that the old oil has solidified and is sticking things. Continued use in its present state could burn up the motor.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

It was working now it seems to be frozen the needle part wont move

Works sporadically. Why doesn't it have enough power to push new needle through material?

Difficult to say. The machine should have enough power to stitch fabric. Could be a problem with the foot control or the motor or multiple other issues.

Is the machine mechanical (NOT computerized)? If so, could need a good cleaning and oiling. If old oil has solidified and is freezing the moving parts, the motor would be straining so that any resistance (fabric) would prevent the machine from operating. Do not try to force the motor to operate as it could damage the motor. Consult your owner's manual. Use ONLY fresh good quality sewing machine oil. Do NOT oil any plastic, rubber, or belts. Open the top cover and the free arm cover and apply 1-2 drops of oil every place that metal rubs on metal. (Slowly hand-rotate the handwheel and watch where things move. Is the handwheel resistant to turning? If so, indicates something is holding it back. Does the oil loosen things? If so, you are probably on the right track.)

If the machine is not mechanical or you continue to have issues, might be best to take it for service.

When I press the foot pedal down nothing happens...all I do is hear a humming sound like it is sewing but nothing else works.

See if your drive belt is missing or broken. Try looking inside the machine. God bless your efforts.

NO WHERE. It is oil impregnated.

Why bernina electronic wheel won't turn and motor bogs down

You don't mention which model Bernina you have. If it is a Bernina mechanical, ie 930 Record, it sounds like it hasn't been cleaned or oiled in a while and the oil has hardened making it difficult for the motor to move the parts. Pick up some Bernina oil for "mechanical" machines, or for a quick fix a bottle of Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil at the hardware store. Following the diagram in your manual, put one or two drops of oil every place indicated (be sure to oil both the top of your machine and the area below the sewing surface). In your case, pay particular attention to the oil holes located nearest the handwheel. That is probably where the problem is worst. To help loosen things up, you can direct heat from a hand-held hair dryer into the interior of the machine. In the future, be sure to keep your machine cleaned and oiled on a regular basis. My policy is every time I change bobbins, after 8 hours of continuous sewing, or every six months if the machine has not been in use.

My pfaff creative 1473 makes a continuous noise when switched on it won't operate in any way can anyone help

"OIL IT" , or you may have a thread lock, check the shuttle by removing the bobbin case and the shuttle behind the bobbin case. A single piece of thread can lock the machine "DO NOT FORCE MOVEMENT" As you may break the machine..

The machine is stuck in zigzag cannon move control knobs

If the buttonhole dial has been rotated so that its indicator mark is not at zero (vertical aligned with the plate indicator mark), the stitch width dial will not function. Turn the buttonhole dial clockwise to the vertical mark.
