Bad picture on PS2

Hi I have the same TV as this but it is a different model (LE26R73BD). The picture quality on normal TV (just useing the built in freeview) is ok but real life images are slighty blurred but cartoons or CG movies are alot clearer I live in a poor signal area and I think the ariel may need looking at so I need to use a signal booster some people have told me this may be the reason for that I have also found some sites that tell you how to calibrate it to get the best picture quality but i have yet to try this. The main problem I have is when I use the it for playing games on the Playstation 2 the picture is really bad things are very blurred and straight lines are jagged I am just useing the normal cable from PS2 to TV and the 3 jack plugs are going into a scart converter so they can plug in one of the scart ports do you know of why this is or anyway I can improve the picture. I hope I explained that ok and hope you can help. Cheers Dan I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY TV WHILE PLAYING PS2 GAMES,THE PICTURE QUALITY SEEMS TO GET A LOT WORSER COMPARED TO PLAYING THE SAME GAME ON A DIFFERENT TV. BY THE WAY I HAVE A SAMSUNG LCD TV (LE37S7BD) I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME HELP THANKS..

SOURCE: Flickering tv screen when playing playstation games.

I don't think it's a configuration problem at all. I do think that the set is not adjusting to the correct format. Most Stores have 30 day return policy. If it's over 30 days then they may not take it back. If you bought it online, then, the return may be difficult. If the return is not possible, then, contact Toshiba online and find a local Toshiba authorized servicer in your area. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Best Picture Quality

The set may not be at fault. If you are on cable some channels are still in anolog and some are digital. if you are on a nolog channel the picture will look preaty bad compared to the digital ones.

SOURCE: I was given a technika

hi,
First of you have to check the Atenna connection in the rare of your tv. Check for any loose contact on the connection of the wire to the pin. may be its the cause for showing signal as 0%. you can confirm the same by connecting the tv at the place where you doughters tv is connected. If there you get the picture then there is some thing wrong with the atenna connection.

If want information how to tune your tv then need information like BRAND and MODEL NUMBER of you TV.

How do I view my PS2 video on my Sylvania W4913TA 13" TV?

Hi Casey.
To view your PS2 through the Tv you will need the AV lead from ps2 with the Yellow cord plugged into the Yellow RCA input on the front of the TV. This is called a "Composite" video signal and the AV lead can be bought easily from places like eBay and Amazon if you have not already got one. Normally on the TV Casey if you choose "Aux" it should display the channel that you inserted the lead to. Aux being short for "Auxiliary".

I presume you are in the USA Casey.
If so the best way to view PS2 on a Tube CRT would be either Scart (RGB) or Component video. RGB TVs are not normally sold in the US but some tvs have them. Component video input should be readily available in USA tvs and this will give you a much better picture and is the highest video quality the PS2 can do. A few years back Samsung made a great CRT tv with component video and also scart and it could also do HD gaming.

If you cannot get any of these TVs and have to use the new Sylvania its cool. The yellow video plug inserted into the front of the tv and I have checked on line for the instruction manual and you will have to press " Game" on the remote control which is the same as pressing "AUX" input.

I think this button has to pressed and at the same time it sets the mode at which you will be viewing the PS2.
In game mode the contrast and brightness are normally tweaked to give the best results.

I hope my answer helped you out Casey and good luck with your new TV :)

I bought some component cables for my PS2 and nothing is coming up on my TV. Is there different models of PS2's and the one I have isn't compatable?

Hi....

Are you using the "Component video" inputs on the TV? If so , you need to switch the PS2 over ( in the setup menu ) to Component Video

Sound but no picture on PS3 using AV3/4

if it's happening with your ps2 and your ps3 on teh same tv, try it on a different tv. if you're getting sound but no picture, tehn it's something with your cables or your tv. restting the display setting should get your picture back up. make sure the system is in standby and then hold down teh power button. it will turn green and beep, then flash green and beep again. it should brng up a picture. if not, check your component cables, especailly if it works with the original cables.

Rear Projection and PlayStation 2

Hi, If your PS2 has an RF module, it is possible that the PlayStation 2's RF unit is interfering with your reception. Even if you are using the Audio/Video OUTput of the PS2, the RF module is also working and throwing out an output to either Chs 3 or 4. By switching off the PS2, the RF module would likewise be off. If by switching off the PS2 does not solve the problem, it is also possible that the Video input board of your TV has been slightly damaged. I doubt if it is a major repair and offhand would probably involved minor components or simply re-soldering. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information.

Bad picture

All you can do is use the PSOne/PS2 'smoothing' options under the PS3's settings. Just remember that the games were designed for standard definition televisions so your Hi-Def set will really show their ugliness!

Toshiba CF36G40 36" TV (picture snowy)

you have a bad tuner you can replace it or use vcr if you still have one around. hook it up with av cable like your ps2 and hook your cable to it and use it to change channels. If you want to replace the tuner it will require soldering and you will have to order it somewhere. i would try partsore.com. The tuner is the metal can the cable goes into inside the tv.
