Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer
While installing my printer everything goes well until the "Found New Hardware Wizard" says it will help install software for PCI FLASH MEMORY. I put the installation CD in and press to "Install software AUTOMATICALLY" It looks as if it is searching for the software. Then I get a message that it cannot install hardware. Hardware was not installed becasue it couldn't locate the software.
What do I need to do now to get the printer loaded?
Put the cd in the computer, and see if there is a setup.exe file, or something of the sort on the CD itself.
Also, you can download the drivers from dells website. Your install cd may be bad. Your computer may also need to be updated, sometimes you need to log into http://www.update.microsoft.com/
and there may be drivers for it there on the bottom of a custom update.
If you tell the wizard to find the drivers automatically, it sometimes only looks for it on the hard drive of your pc. Tell it to install the drivers from a specific location, then select "from a removable medium". You can also try installing it from a specific location, click browse, and try to find the location of the drivers on the Dell installation cd.
