Machine is not making coffee. Keeps asking to turn frother on. Then returns to ready and makes a few drops.

I have the same problem... I think some how the water pipe is dislodged from the inside... My machine's LCD display indicates 'open tap' ...'system filling' ...'close tap' and then repeats. When I 'open tap' it oozes a drop or two of water. The rinse cycle does not work and off course no coffee is produced. It does grind the coffee. There is dry coffee powder in the drawer.

I live in the Bay area so if anyone knows of a repair shop that will fixing the water pipe within the system ..please pass me the info.

    Regards

I have the same problem, but only with the bypass doser. Normal brewing with beans is fine, but sometimes when I use the bypass ("fill powder") for decaf, I get the same problem: a couple drips of coffee, and then the "open tap" "system filling" message and then nothing. I actually sent the machine back for repair under warranty -- it worked ok for a while, but now it's doing it again.

Amazing! I had tried "cleaning" the machine 3 times in a row. But, this fix did it. It saved me from sending it to be repaired, or yet worse, to have to buy a different brand.

It should DEFINITELY be in the users manual, wait, make it better: put a digital message that reads: "clean the thingy behind the flappy thing or go to www.fixya.com".

    Thanks for posting.

After contacting Capresso Customer Service - the solution is simple. You pull out the drawer and dump the grounds. Look into the machine and you will see a plastic flap. Reach your hand in and up behind the flap and you should feel a round screen. Using a paper towel, clean off the screen. Replace everything. Works like a champ! So glad I didn't have to return our 3 day old machine!

The rep states that this is a common problem - asked him why it isn't in the manual and he had no explanation! Plus I can't believe that someone else didn't post this solution since it is soo easy!

I also had this problem. This solution worked great.
Also, make sure you don't have the grinder set too fine if your beans are more oily.
I didn't think mine were, but started having the above mentioned problem after I adjusted the grinder to a finer setting (done during grinding of course).
So I've cleaned off the screen and the flap, ran a cleaning cycle and my E9 is running like a champ now!

I had a very similar problem.  My machine is 2 years old, and this was the first problem with it.   When making coffees the flow was losing force, just trickling out.  I tried rinsing repeatedly, and things stopped flowing altogether, and it kept asking me to open the tap, and said something like "refilling system" while water came out the steamer.    I tried Jeanne Marie's solution (cleaning the screen under the flap).  It worked.   The thing under the flap didn't feel as much like a screen as a piece of metal with small holes.  It fixed the problem!  Thank you!

What do I need to do when error 8 is displayed on turning on machine?

Jura does not allow access to internal parts for cleaning. Brew group is the dirtiest part as it deals with complicated movements to make coffee.
Error 8 means the brew group is not returning to start position after it completes entire cycle to make coffee.
Jura recommends to remove drip tray. Using a thin cloth, insert the hand all the way under the machine. You will feel access to the bottom of the brew group. Wipe clean the bottom of brew group as best as you can. There will be lot of coffee powder (wet & dry) that is partially responsible to prevent brew group return to start position.
A better method is to open the machine using special key. Clean & lubricate the brew group. every two months. This will prevent Fungus and Bacteria growth. .

How to fix jura not coffee sign?

It is wanting grounds dropped into the trap door on top. If you open that trap door there is a sensor on the hindge that causes it to expect ground coffee to be dropped in there. This is how you would make a decaf cup with caffeine beans in it or flavored with regular bean in the grinder.
Check to make sure the door is closed. It should return to "ready" in about 10 seconds. If not cycle the power by pushing the on/off button or pull the plug.

My Jura Capresso E 8 is stuck in open tap filling system. I open tap it says filling system, it says close tap, when I close the tap it goes back into open tap. Float valve looks fine, water is moving

Open the tap with frother spout off. This happened to mine and I took the frother tip off and opened tap with tip off. Water filled and I closed tap...Machine returned "Ready". I heated water in microwave for three minutes- placed frother tip in hot water and all kinds of gunk came out. Lesson learned- Do a thorough cleaning of frother by immersing it in very hot water at least once monthly- even if you don't use it

Filter change

this was absolutely the problem with my Jura Capressa E-8 machine. I followed instructions after changing the filter. I opened tap-machine stated that it was filling system- I closed tap when instruction. The open tap remained on because no water was filling system. I took the frother tip off and opened tap. Water filled system (container under frother). I closed tap without the frother tip. Machine Ready.... (I heated water in microwave for three minutes) I placed the frother tip in there and used a wooden skewer to ensure frother was clear of debris... Worked like a charm!

Jura Capressa -Tray will not go in, looks like something from above protruding down in the back so that the tray sticks out 1/2 inch (so machine does not work)

I had the same issue. Had to send mine in for repair. Cost $235.00. Nothing I did would fix the issue. They said there was a major blockage. They cleaned it and sent it back. They also fixed my issue with water leaking from the frother.

Jura Capressa E9 Leaking

Your spout is probly cracked (a common problem). It won't hurt the machine if you want to live with making one cup at a time to catch it all.
If you want to get it repaired go to www.hotncold.com Click on Jura Repair for shipping instructions. We can turn the job around in 24 hours. The repair will also include a free software update.

If you gind too fine, it will overload the pump and result in the "open tap" a few seconds into brew. Rinse and gind coarser to clear out malfunction.
