Unlocking Microsoft Word 2007

If you upgraded from the trial version you have to uninstall the trial and remove thfolder from programs then restart your computer then install fresh

A little more information would help.

Assuming you're using Vista and Office 2007 unless you actually bought Office (or torrented it) you've got the Trial version.

Generally its a 30-60 day. After this time Office "Locks" itself and will only let you view files... not edit them.

Options... buy Office.

If you cannot make changes to a document, your Word program might not be activated, the document might be locked for editing or password-protected, or you might be trying to modify a document or text in a form that is protected. I hope this helps, if not can you elborate a little further on your problem. Can you see the file at all, are you able to make changes to the word document?

This is the copy from the original disk, which is (as said before) only accessible to technicians of Microsoft. This version of Microsoft Office 2007 will never appear for sale, since this is the only version where there is no need for a serial. This version also doesn’t need an activation.

Just got a new laptop 4 days ago with office 2007 (free trial for 60 days) and its saying modification has been locked when I try to paste or modify info.

A) Open document > Select edit menu > choose select all > then choose copy from edit menu.
Open new document > edit menu> paste.
Select tools menu> choose options> window opens with options. Select form different tabs the edit tab> make sure that al desired boxes are selected.
Select save tab>choose and mark box>ask about properties
accept or Apply options and close.
Save new document different name. When saving it should ask if you want to save properties> choose not save. Maybe it asks if you want to modify properties> choose yes> select box archive amongst read only, hidden or archive.
If this does not work.
B)There are many 3rd party utilities which claim to recover forgotten word password:
The program that I recommend is the Word Password Recovery 5.0 It recovers/removes the "Password
to Open" and "Password to Edit" for you to view and edit the document freely.

Try to reinstall it, or repair it. I am not sure if it will work.

Maybe you can copy the office and change its name or so anything to make it different from the original, and maybe it won't recognize it and you will have unlimited times.

I'm not sure if that even works, but try it.
