Nvidia Geforce 2 64mb w latest drivers
Thats all I know bout my PC, but if it can run GTA san andreas, I think it should be able to run a game made a couple years be4 that right?
Btw I fired up the game on a PC with the specs of 739 ghz
256 RAM
32mb Intel graphics card
XP pro SP2
It ran just fine so can you fix it for me?
If you are running Vista, before you consider downgrading to XP, find your privateer.exe file and right click it. Once the page is displayed, left click on compatibility. Then check the Run this program in compatability with... Click the button below and scroll until you find XP. Click it and then click Apply to save it. Then click ok. That should enable you to run the game on Vista. If it doesn't something is wrong with your operating system, not the computer.
Hi pilot,
I believe that the reason the game isn't working for you may have to do with the fact that you have Vista. A computer with such old hardware shouldn't have Vista, as it drains every aspect of your computer. I'll break it down for ya.
You have a 1.4GHz CPU, Vista wants at least 1, which uses up most of your processor just running it.
You have 512MB RAM, Vista wants at least 1GB.
You have a 64MB graphics card, and Vista wants at least 128.
Compatibility mode might work for most people, but maybe not for you because you don't have enough resources to get it going.
I'm actually quite surprised you were able to get San Andreas to run on there. However, not all games will be as forgiving, as you have found from this game. I recommend you downgrade to XP, which has MUCH lower requirements, thereby freeing up a lot of resources.
XP needs only:
a 300MHz processor (that's only .3GHz compared to at least 1GB for Vista)
Recommended 512MB RAM (perfect for you, as it can run with even 128)
It doesn't specify video card, and only says that you need to run at least 800x600 which any card from the last decade can do, including yours.
Simply put, you should either go back to XP, or get a new computer.
I hope this helps :)
