Question about Hitachi 50SBX70B 50" Rear Projection Television

My 50SBX70B flicks than lost the power

My 50SBX70B start flick than lost the power now and then since last week. And It is getting more often.

It happen randomly in any time of day, when TV start flicks horizontally, it will later lost the power and turn itself off. I tried to unplug to reset and it back to normal couple times. Sometime the screen is not back but we can hear the audio part working just fine. It is happen several times a day now. We did not use this TV a lot. Wonder if there is easy way to fix it. I can do some simple parts replace job. I need the help to identify which to replace.

Symptom: NO HOR SYNC
Symptom: No Horizontal Sync. When PinP is called up, main picture may lock up for a 8 moment, then it goes back out of sync.
Cause: I008 defective (Sync Switch)

must be the power supply or a fuse ,does the fan come on and a orange light beside the power light flick on and off?if so count the blinks before it shuts off could be the lamp program also,just refer to the manual that you can download freee from JVC M anuals and count the amount of orange flickers.

This set may have suffered a power loss---unplug it for a while and plug back to power and turn it back on to see if the set will reboot.

No picture - green light flicking on and off

Bulb light indicator flashes?Projection bulb use alot,an awile like about 1 or 2.The projection bulb must change it at end of it life cycles.

try unplugging the tv for a few hours. then plug it in and push the power button on the front of the tv.

it has something to do with this processor issue inside the tv....its pretty much a stupid thing.

should have been a recall because everyone has the same problem on here.

this is pretty much just a band-aid over cancer, but i've been having to do this for about a month now, and it works.

My 50SBX70B doesn't start

There are many reasons for a no start on your 50SBX70. I will give you the most common problem I have found. Check E994( 4a pico fuse on the 120v line in pwr supply) If it is bad, remove C701(.001/2kv) from the circuit located near Q777. Inspect the capacitor for any burn marks, if so put in a new fuse and leave the cap out and fire up the set.
