Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Deleting everything I want to delete EVERYTHING off my sansa e260. Even when I go through my computer and select the device not everything is deleted, so all I want to do at this point is delete everything and start over. Almost all of my tracks show up as 'Bad Track'. Is there a way to go back to the original factory settings?

I have tried deleting everything on my MP3 Sansa e260, I cant. Everything on it now say's it needs to Sync to continue subscription. I tryed to get on the site every 20 days to keep everything sync but I do not have time to do it every 30 days that is ridiculous to have to keep doing."

You can try fomating it on the computer.
You can do that by
going to COMPUTER
and left clicking on the device icon or the removable dics.
and then fomat it.
it should delete and start all over again.

My player deleted songs

Several options:
1) You can delete the songs from the computer itself using Windows Explorer. Be careful to only delete music files, not system files.
2) Use the format option on the player itself - will erase everything.
3) Delete the songs using Windows Media Player

After selecting one of the 3 options, you can then reload only the songs that you want onto the player.

What to do

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Adding or Removing tracks from my player

Yes, it could have quite a bit to do with that (even though I love BearShare).

Here are ways to delete:

Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab.
