Sounds like a faulty thermostat switch.

SOURCE: Pelonis HF-0034 turned off 10 sec after starting; won't restart

We had one of these heaters also. Used for one year for short periods of time to heat an extra room. Went to plug in and nothing. My husband took the bottom plate off to see if there was a blown fuse and instead found a burnt wire, which had melted part of the plastic disk. If I were you, I would throw it away and get something else. This model is discontinued and I am sure for many reasons. I would look for a different manufacture also. I called customer service and after being told to bad, the man hung up on me. Great customer service. :(

I've been through 4 or 5 of these (and similar models) with the same problem after anywhere from 3 months to 1 year of use. It appears to be an overheat condition. Unplugging for about 10 minutes resets the overheat protector, but it will overheat again after running a short time.

Sometimes you can extend the life by blowing out the heater with compressed air, especially around the electronics at the very top and the contact points at the top of the circular heating element.

I'm currently trying a Lasko 755320 from -- cheaper, more features, better user interface, more heat, and it almost has to be more reliable than the pelonis.

I would try the thermostat one by turning it up to a higher heat. I feel the other one may heat on high but would not shut off. You would have to do it manually.

Error Freezer Fan." Once the evaporator fan stops turning for more than 115 seconds, this error message will be displayed. The best fix so far is to replace your defrost thermostat with a Whirlpool Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat 4387490. This will allow your defrost heater to more thoroughly defrost your coils. The one you have stops the heater prematurely causing a short and nearly useless defrost cycle.

I would check to make sure that the control is sending the "cool" signal to the control unit. LO on the room temp display usually means that the fan speed is set to low. Is LO and Auto showing on the display at the same time. Try resetting the thermostat first. Hold down the Mode and Zone buttons with the tstat off. While holding them down, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons down until FF appears on the screen. Release the buttons and try the AC.
If this does not work, on the control board is a freeze control switch plug (blue usually). Try unplugging this unit and insert a small jumper wire. If the Compressor comes on and runs then you have a bad freeze control switch. If not, then you should replace the control board.

Hope this helps,
