Hello,

If the laptop will run on the adapter then chances are you have a dead battery. The average laptop battery life is 400 to 600 charge cycles and after 4 years it would need to be replaced very soon anyway.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

I have an Acer 7736Z the battery isn't charging. The BIOS on the acer support website give me version 2.10 which doesn't seem to match the directions given from previous questions and solution

If your battery will not charge, you need to run a test on some components on the laptop. The battery, the charger and the laptop itself. Once you detect the faulty conponent then you replace it with a new one.

To test the battery:
1.Power off the laptop,
2.Take out the battery,
3.Insert it in another laptop,
4.Check of it will charge,

If the battery holds a charge there, then it means the problem is not from the battery, but if it does not hold a charge, then it means the battery is defective and need to be replaced with a new one.

To test the charger:
1.Unplug the charger from the present laptop,
2.Connect it to another laptop to see if it will charge.

If it charges the laptop, then it means the charger is alright, and if it does not charge the laptop, then it means the charger is bad and need to be replaced.

To test the laptop:
1.Turn off the laptop,
2.Disconnect your present charger,
3.Remove your present battery pack,
4.Insert a well tested battery into the laptop,
5.Connect a well tested charger to the laptop.

If it powers on, then it and charges, then it means the laptop is working fine, but if it does not charge, then it means the connection port of the laptop is bad.Hope this information was helpful.

Should the red light on my 15.6v dustbuster turn green when it's fully charged? It doesn't.

I had the same issue, then i just found the manual, in charging part, it says:"The charging indicator will be lit as long as the
appliance is connected to the plugged-in
charger."
Also it says:"While charging, the charger may get warm, this is
perfectly normal and safe. It can remain on
charge indefinitely without damage or danger. It
is not possible to "overcharge" the battery cells
with the charger provided"

Alright so i wanted to know if i can charge my Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera without the actual charger but just plug it into my computer and it'll charger that way. i've tried this...

No. You need to plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. Connecting the camera to the computer merely drains the battery faster, as the camera has to spend juice communicating (or trying to communicate) with the computer, even if only to say it has nothing to say.

Phone says its charging when plugged in but battery doesn't charge

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Well, it seems like either bad charging connection. Look, sometimes, it happen, that as soon as you plug in the charger, the charging indication starts showing that the device is under charging mode, but in real its not. You can say, that the charging animation showing on the screen is fake. Secondly, it could be due to bad charging IC in worst case, or can be due to weak battery (in most cases), And to rectify the problem, first you need to try charging the battery with some other OEM charger, Secondly do make sure that there is no carbon deposition on the battery terminals. If the problem still persists, then either the charging IC or the battery is the bottle neck of the trouble. Hope, now you get a wider picture on how to deal with the scenario.

Have a nice day,

Concerned.

Hello my laptop isn't charging properly. It is plugged in and all of the cables are connected. There is power in the plug socket but it doesn't seem to be charging. Help!

Hi! Drain the power charges of the laptop by shutting it down and by unplugging both ac adapter (charger) and battery from the computer.

Press the power button for like 10 times while the battery and charger is disconnected to drain the power of the board.

connect back the battery first then connect the charger to the computer. Make sure that the charger is connected to a stable power outlet while charging the system.

Please leave a comment if you have any other questions.

Cheers!

Batteries won't charge

Hi. Sounds like there is a faulty connection somewhere between the charger and the batteries. Are the batteries connected correctly. The charger uses the voltage level in the batteries to regulate itself. If there is a faulty connection, then the charge will not operate. Use a multi-meter to check if the batteries are connected correctly. There should be 24 to 26 volts across both batteries.
This fault can also be caused by a faulty charger socket. Check for any signs of melting or heat damage. There might also be a disconnected wire in the plug on the charger itself.Good luck. Neil.
