I hate to give you bad news but about 90% of the time horizontal lines come from a bad panel and if that's the case the set isn't worth fixing as a panel costs hundreds of dollars

Hi my LG 47ln5700 tv set has thin greyish black horizontal lineson one side of the .... I hope this works good with Samsung LCD as well....
This is a indicator of defective LCD screen, the only option is replace the laptop monitor, go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen to get an idea of pricing.
You are misleading yourself. When you have a horizontal line across the screen it means that the vertical circuit is not working. You see, the vertical circuit moves the beam up and down which is not happening. The horizontal circuit moves the beam left and right and it is working. Your set probably needs a new vertical output IC and some electrolytic capacitors that work with it. The caps dry up with time and harm the output IC.
they can be horizontal. I think your graphics card on your motherboard is bad. you should consider sending it to acer so they can replace it with a new one.
Sounds as if you have a bad capacitor in the horizontal deflection or video circuitry. You can spot a bad capacitor in circuit with a ESR meter.Hope this helps.
What is wrong with your monitor is that the Horizontal section is going faulty, the lines you are seeing are the Horizontal Retrace lines, usually invisable in a working unit. It is often a faulty capacitor(s) OR a Diode breaking down.. in the area of the Flyback Transformer. Probably time for a new one unless ya can fix it yaself.
