Question about Barebone Systems

1 Answer

Printer problem I have a Canon LBP-4 Lite printer and recently it started leaving about a 4 inch wide grey streak down the length of the paper. The cartridge seems like it has ink in it so really hate to replace it if the problem is elsewhere. Have no idea where the owners manual is so any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Tara

Piece of paper 1 inch by 2 inches jammmed and won't eject when I touch start button. I can't even see it with the cover open.

you have to open up your printer covers to extract that jammed paper. However, if you haven't tried tinkering with anything electronic before you will have to seek technical assistance from a qualified expert, but if you're willing and determined to extract that piece of paper, i suggest first you unplug any power connection from your printer, then unscrew the visible screws of the cover which is nearest the jammed piece of paper. never turn any cylinder if it resists your effort, however, try to manually turn cylinders where that small piece of paper is wedged until it comes off. Try to pull down on that piece of paper using a hair puller or forcep.

I have a Canon PIXMA MP830 Office All-In-One Printer. when I print there is a 1/4 inch ink line on the back of the paper. I clean the bottom plate and it goes away but if the printer sits for a while and I...

Your cartriage is leaking ink, thats why it comes like.
Replace your cartraige immediatly if you are using a refill, it might not be refilled correctly.
Put the original one it will fix your problem.

Can't print in colour

Hi Paddy,
It sounds like the color ink cartridge is clogged. You can try taking the color cartridge out, and take a paper towel and some windex with amonia. Spray the paper towel with the windex and then take the color cartridge, and wipe the bottom of the ink cartridge. After wiping the bottom of the cartridge, try pressing on the bottom of the cartridge (Print head) with the paper towel...You should start seeing some ink soaking into the paper towel. If you do not see any ink on the paper towel, then try wiping it again with the windex/paper towel. If after a couple tries, you can not get the ink to flow from the print head, then I would suggest getting a new cartridge.
The HP ink cartridges can get a bit tricky and the print heads will clog when the printer is left sitting for a long period of time.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

You prob have a few small pieces of photo paper jammed in the printer somewhere. Try to take something small that you can push through the printer to make sure there is nothing hidden jamming the printer.
