Need to install OEM Windows 98

I successfully installed your EIDE Hard Drive 160 GB WD Caviar SE on my Compaq Presario Model 5725. This upgrade was intended to replace the previous Hard Drive that had Configuration problems and no longer was capable of operating the Windows 98 system in the "Normal" mode. I was only able to operate in the "Safe" mode. I planned that I would utilze your drive as the new boot main drive and then capture the programs I wanted from the slave drive (formerly C:\ main drive). So, after installing your drive I encountered an error statement "Operating system not found on the hard drive" and I agree as I have the Windows 98 OEM disk and the Second Addition Update in my hands? How do I transfer these operating system disks to your hard drive?? I need explicit step-by-step instructions? I already ran your Diagnostics Bootable disk with no errors encountered. I want this one WD2500JB

That is an old drive. No need to buy an exact replacement since that one is so old. Any hard drive will do. If your BIOS supports a larger drive, you can get an even higher capacity drive to replace it.

Installing new hard drive

hi,

its brand new right? have it reformatted for the first time. you can do this by installing an OS and it prompts you to reformat it. actually, there are other ways to do that but for me, this is the most secure way to reformat a new harddrive in your situation.

hope this helps.
