Question about SanDisk Sansa e200 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Won't charge My son's Sansa e260 won't charge. It is connected to the computer and it says it is charging but when you disconnect it, it turns off due to low battery. We took out the battery and reconnected it. We have plugged the USB cable into a different computer and in different spots and still nothing. Do batteries go bad? Is is the cable? The mp3 player is 2 years old.

i tried plugging my sandisk into the computer it charged before but no it just keeps shutting off. i ran the battery dead does that have anything o do with it?

We changed the battery to a new one. It now says it is charging, but in fact the battery does not charge at all. Now we have ruled out the battery. What next?

There is a trick to charging the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do...
1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting "System" from the menu
4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.

SanDisk, 2 GB Sansa mp3 player won't charge

You MAY have a power glich. In which case, hold the power/menu botton down for 20 seconds or more, then connect it to the computer. It's best if you use a USB input that's NOT part of a Multi-USB base, as those DO cause power gliches.

Sansa E260 Charging Problem

The battery may have become disconnected from the contacts, therefore it will not charge the battery but lights up when connected to the PC. Remove the 4 screws on the back, remove and re-seat the battery. Charge the device for a few hours. Best of Luck. p.s.- you can add to this question if this didnt help.

My Sansa E260's screen is white and it won't turn off

After leaving it on all night and running the battery down I plugged it back in, it charged and everything is working fine. The morale of this story is, don't unplug it from the computer while it is in use.
