Knocking sound The washer makes knocking sound once at the same spot on each revolution of the drum. It doesn't matter if the drum is moving very slow or fast, the sound happens about the same noise level and once per revolution.

Re: knocking sound

The spider on the back of the drum is most likely broken. The part should have a 10 year warranty. Labor should run 250 - 350, unless you call A&E, then it will be a lot more.

I have a question in that the washer when it turns either way I hear a knocking sound and I am concerned about this problem if any. Next the hot water is coming out slowly and I checked the fix it

is this front loader? if so, reach into the drum and try to move it up and down - there should be no play. sometimes the arm holding the drum will corrode and break causing the drum to come loose. it's usually not worth fixing if that happens.

Ftf530es knocks during spin cycle

Good Afternoon Amy,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES, knocks during the spin cycle. I also see that the drum moves from front to back and not up and down. I suggest making sure that your washer is level from front to back, side to side, and from corner to corner. If after leveling you washer, the drum is still moving from front to back, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine why the drum is moving from front to back. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Washing machine making a knocking sound

On this washer the problem is the washer drum rear bearing is worn out, a common problem and often caused by not using the correct detergent for a front loader, detergent is very corrosive, so special types are used in front loads to prevent soap residue corroding the drum bearing. Once the bearing go out then the struts that cushion the drum during the spin quickly follow.

When spinning the drum makes a knocking noise

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'Knocking when spinning' normally means that the washer is out of balance.
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Maytag legacy dryer. Drum makes thud noise about once every revolution. I know that the belt has one worn spot, could this be the problem?

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine, Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer. Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to check the belt condition for wear. Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: Both also have chat assistance 24/7. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You

Drum off balance

It's either a bad suspension spring or you have a crack in the tub support.
