Question about Whirlpool ET1FHTXM Top Freezer Refrigerator
Refrigerator has bad odor. throught it was gas. gas tech came out and did a reading. No natural gas found. all the food was taken out twice and refrig cleaned out. smell still there. still puts out cold air. is there something that can be done to correct this?
Mold and mildew can cause problems like this. It is even possible that a small animal may have invaded your home and gotten into the box somehow. Cleaning the inside of the box with a dilute bleach solution may help. For continuing odor absorption, place an open container, say a 1/4 cup, of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) in the compartment. Change as often as once a week. The powder will absorb the odor.
