Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I have a 40 gig PS3 that I cannot get online. I have internet
through a wireless router. I have tried both manual and
automatic setups, but both times it just says "could not find IP
address". And when I test the
internet connection, the router lights up, but the signal is just not
getting to my machine.
Is there something else i need to do? How do i find the DNS server #s? Or should i just try taking this back as a defective machine? I've only had it for a month.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
Lets see here this might just be a fluke but here it goes!!!! I am/was having the same problem as you all, "could not obtain the ip" Tried everything and it did not work. I just got home from work and bad storm rolled in and knocked out the power< in turn the router, modem and ps3 shut completely off, usually my ps3 has a red light on when it is off....I am talking completely off!! Turned on my ps3, hit the reset on my router and wallaaa!!! It works!!!!!!!!! This might not work for you but it is worth a try

Sometimes you have to be close to the router because it obtains the ip adress but then loses it in a jiffy. if u go closer to router and it doesnt work then get some advice from stores like best buy, circuit city or local shops, then if it doesnt work take it back to place of purchase.
