Magellan 405 won't take a charge from the car

if the light does not com one on the car charger, try another charger if you have one, or a home charge if you have one of those...this model also has a common problem if you have a good charger.

This is very common problem with this and many model of magellans.

Try the car charger.

Make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (up to ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

The following Magellan 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3100, 3140, 3000, 3050, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and the 6000 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your Magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...

a magellan 4040 can not charge through the USB port and if it wont charge with a known good car or home charger, then read below.

make sure its charging by going in to the options tab, then system, then power options and look at the battery meter and see if its moving left to right while plugged in to the charger.

hi ohh_bambino plug it in and let it charge for awhile using a know good charger, like the car charger. it has a indicator light to let you know its charging.

now press and hold the power button for up to ten seconds until it starts. if that fails

if it starts, you can verifiy if its charging by going to the system settings then power options. the green indicator should be moving left to right. this indicates its charging.

if you disconnect the battery, your magellan should still work while plugged in if the power port is ok.
