Question about RCA 25202RE3 Corded Phone

No CID I bought a brand new RCA 2-line phone and the Caller ID does not appear.  I called the customer service department and they told me to do a hard reset (unplug the power and phone lines), but the CID still doesn't appear. According to the manual, it should be a regular feature on the phone.  I do have CID set up through the phone company, and it was working on my previous phone two days ago.  Any ideas?

This message is in an area that discusses the 25202RE3. If you really have the 202, this model shouldn't have the CallerID capability. If there was ever a model 25204RE3, that model probably has it.

If you bought it brand new, then you might have the space-age chrome/blue-plasma model (2542YRE3?, where Y is either 3, 4, or 5). If Y is 3 (and the model number system holds), you don't have CID/VM. If Y is 4, you do. If Y is 5, you have a built-in answering machine as well.

Firstly, you have not indicated which phone system your phones are connected to, e.g. KX-TA824, KX-TDA50 or other, so I'm a little in the dark. That being said, most of the Panasonic Systems only display Caller ID information (CID) to phones that are programmed to "Ring" on the line with the incoming call, and the line button flashes green to show it's ringing... so you must "system program" ringing for the line(s) on each phone. If the CID is not displayed on a particular phone, then that line is likely not programed to ring on that phone (it's light may flash red instead of green). After you "system program" the line to ring, you can still shut off the ringing sound on a phone using the slide switch on the left edge of the phone if you don't want to hear ringing, and this will not interfere with the CID display. Also, on a second note, CID does not display on the first ring coming in from the phone company (TELCO). The CID signal is sent from the TELCO to your system after the first ring has ended, during what would be the silence period that would occur before the second ring, if there was no CID. It is for that reason that most knowledgeable installers program lines with a five second delayed ring; in this way, you don't know the call has arrived until after enough time has passed for your system to receive the CID signal... this is why it seems the CID appears instantly, with an incoming call. Check out the line programming for each line and set it to ring with a 5 second delay. If you don't set up a delay, your phones will ring and if you answer the call immediately, its likely it won't allow the system to receive CID, so no CID will be displayed for that call.

Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists
Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information.
Caller ID list



Redial list



When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the

CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.


Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.

How do I get calls(caller id) to show up on LCD?


Panasonic systems require 3 things for CID, 1. CID service 2. CID hardware 3. System programming.

Once you get all 3 things, you'll have caller id. There is also some set programming to log and list calls that is found in the Operating Manual for your system.

CID not working


There are two main types of Caller ID used in the US, most Uniden phones will work with either type, you just need to set it to type "A" or type "B". If you will post your model I will be happy to tell you how to change it or you can call Uniden Customer Service at 800-297-1023

You need CID service from teoco, Caller ID capable circuit packs in your Norstar system and 2 parameters turned on in programming under "terminals a & sets" for each extension. Also the CID will only auto display on sets that have the ringing turned on for that line. (you can also program a display button..feature-811). I doubt it is the software version but to display it go into programming and step down through the menu from 'Terminals&Sets' 10 items to 'Maintenance' and press 'show' then show again at 'System Version' this will give you a display like "SP: 30DHC04 NAT". Uniden CXA15198 not showing caller id


Hi! There is a small device available in the market which is a converter. By connecting this between landline and phone, caller ID start display simply.

It cost to me Rs.450/- made by Fintel. Try to get it cheaper at your place.

Try this and the problem is solved.

Caller ID not working in India


In USA, CANADA, telephone company uses FSK for Caller ID detection while Indian Telecom companies uses DTMF standard. this is the mismatch and reason for caller ID not working.

u need to purchase seperate caller ID for it.
