Question about Whirlpool GGQ8831L Gas Dryer

Whrilpool gas dryer

Our gas dryer runs off propane and has an adaptor to do so. However, once the tank ran dry the dryer stopped working. ( of Course) However, once the tank was refueled the dryer operates but does not get hot. I smell no gas and have checked all the electric connections. I see there is a very small veiwing hole up front but how do you access the burner area? I see no outside panel for cleaning or service? DH in Cabo

Re: whrilpool gas dryer

Let it run. If nothing has changed, the dryer will go through several relight cycles and should eventually purge the lines of air.

A friend gave me one kitchenaid dryer , i don't understand. canI use eletric power and propane, or only propane. I don't have the propane pipes conections, can you please help me understand it?

Your propane dryer only dries with propanr. The electrical cord is for the motor that turns the dryer and for the controls. If you don't have gas piped into your house then your gas dryer is useless. Either get an electric dryer or pipe gas into the house. If you have Natural gas in your home, then you need to get a conversion kit to make your dryer run on Natural gas.

Cold dryer?

I would bet on a bad ignitor. An appliance parts store should help you thru the install. Should be about $20.00 for the part.

Bosch dryer not heating

make sure you try it a couple of times. gas takes a long time to travel to the pipes. no way to purge the lines.

check if there is propane in the new tank, check if the valve is open, check if the propane is at the hose going to the dryer already.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Dryer LG 6DTD3120

You should change it back to regular gas the problem is in pressure reg gas come to your home at much greater pressure then propane that's why it takes longer to dry the other thing is to keep your lint trap clean because it can affect drying once in while blow out lint hose as well
