Re: Metrik 10x61/2 speakers (msi-769)

Same thing happened to me, using Kenwood 5 1/4 marine speakers on my Harley Davidson, hit a bump and the grill flew off. Having no luck in locating the exact replacement or any othe replacement.

I have a 2009 chevy aveo sedan. The back speakers are blown and I got speakers to replace them but I can not get the grill cover off to get to the screws to take the factory speakers out. Do I need to just...

Some cars are built nowadays where the bolts/nuts under the rear deck actually hold the speakers AND grills in place. If you back the nuts all the way off, it may allow the speaker and grill to lift out of the deck.

If this doesn't work you may need to pry/pop the grills out of their shroud.

Although they're always looking for ways to save four cents on a plastic plug, it's inconceivable that they would be built in a way that must be broken to be removed.

One other thing to check very closely is whether there are small screw-head covers, usually circular plastic pieces, that need to be popped out in order to access the screwheads. I see this more on door panels, but worth looking for.

Removing grill covers of Clarion 6.5" marine speakers

Put a piece of cardboard next to the speaker to protect your boats finish. Then use a flat bladed screw driver to gently pry the grill covers off. you may need to work your way around the perimeter, with a little bit of effort it will pop off. There will be 4 screws under the grills holding the speaker to the boat which are easy to remove.

This is not a car subwoofer, a professional musicians speaker, most car amps will destroy this within a week or two due to their very poor distortion levels.

1983 mercedes300SD, how do I remove the front speakers?

I fit my MB Quart DKG110s in the front with no modification. You may not find this an ideal solution though because:

1)The grill actually touches the shield for the tweeter--it doesn't clear by about 1mm or so. However, I was able to put the grill back on and screw it in place. It bulges ever so slightly in the middle and you can't notice it. If you wanted to fix it, all you'd have to do is take a dremel tool and thin the middle of the grill in the center where the tweeter is. I will do this but haven't gotten around to it yet. There is no effect on the sound because the grill is only touching the shield and not the speaker itself.

2)I didn't screw the speaker in either. I think you'd have to cut off one or two of the corners of the speaker mount to get the holes to line up. I don't remember but since the situation above is true anyway, the grill holds the speaker in place and the screws won't be necessary until I dremel out the grill.

Crutchfield has all the aspects on most cars and speaker specs I suggest visiting there or the 12 volt . com to get a more precise answer.

Hope this at least helps

How to replace front speakers in a daewoo leganza 02

You will need to either remove the door card or the speaker grill on the door card. To do this you will need a set of thin nose pliers for removing door clips, a flat head screw driver and a phillips screw driver for any cross head screws. Use the flat head screw driver to pop the grill off, if the grill is not removeable you will have to take the whole door card off. To do this you need to remove the electric windows panel as well as the door handle and lock panel, from their disconnect them from their harnesses. Then remove all clips and screws holding the panel in place. The door card should come free without too much effort, pulling upwards and away from the window. Unscrew the old speakers and disconnect the wires from them. Wire your new speaker to the same wire configuration as the old one. Screw it in. Place the door card back on and then plug the harnesses back in and place the door lock and window locking panels back in place. Do the same for the other door.

A professional installation will cost about $80 I think, I did my door speakers on my car and all I had to do was pop out the grill so it was easier than I expected.
