Automatic Dispenser Water Leak

I've had the machine for three years, and yesterday it started leaking (more of a steady drip than a deluge) from the the automatic dispenser drawer. I used a toothbrush to brush out the small amount of gunk I could see inside the drawer, but it didn't do any good. Any other ideas before I call so-called "Mr. Lonely"? Thanks!

    Thanks, Vest6 -

Since my initial post I think I figured out what the problem is, but now I need a solution. I removed the dispenser drawer, and using a small flashlight and dental mirror, I could see down the drain hole located in the left front corner. There appears to be a good amount of lint down there -- apparently the "self-cleaning lint removal" isn't up to the task. It isn't blocking the hole, but it is probably slowing down the drain enough to cause the leaking. Is there a tool I could use to clean that out, or another way to get at it. Thanks!

Need to know where the dripping is. Does it start at the top or bottom of the draw and on which side ? There is more than one water valve in this machine so the answer to this question will be helpful.

The hole is for overfill conditions. This may very well be the problem. Try using a pipe cleaner.

Two possibilities:
1. A cracked plastic tube. These will leak whenever there's a call for water - either the chilled water dispenser, or re-filling the icemaker tray (two seperate tubes). Pay particular attention to anywhere the tubes are clamped to the chassis; anywhere they're routed near or under the refrigeration unit; and near the solenoid valve - especially if there's a tight loop in the tube there.
2. A bad (leaking) connection where one of the tubes exits the water valve. Again, these will leak whenever the valve is activated.

Those plastic tubes don't last forever. I've replaced many of them for the same symptoms. They're known to simply deteriorate with age.
Manuf's make good money selling replacement tubing kits.

Hello, I've been using the "Whirlpool 25.1 cu.

Maybe trash has made its way to valve and it is partially stuck open. Or maybe all air is not out of line. Run water through dispenser until it stops splurting air and there is a steady stream of water.

Yesterday, my Keurig was giving me trouble with the menu, but it still made my coffee. That was the first time my coffee machine has ever given me trouble over the nearly year and a half I've owned it....

Hi,

The problem is often that the machine develops a leak in the hose that is rightover the transformer...the water drips onto the transformer and kills that...then you have no power to run the machine.

Here is a tip that I wrote about this problem...

Leak in the water dispenser

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Leaking from the dispenser

Try to pull out your dispenser drawer gently to clean out thoroughy. If you cant succeed, use a tooth brush, see that the brush does not fall in. Probably you have dried powder blocking the passage, nothing else.

Something leaking from dispenser frame

You can remove the frame around the dispenser by pulling it gently and then you access to the screws that hold the dispenser in place. Could be a spillage behind the frame. Good Luck.

Water leaking out of freezer door water dispenser

The fill valve that supplies the water may not be shutting off completely. Also check to see that the lever is closing completely.
