Re: multiple connections

By default the username is blank and the password is admin.

If that doesn't work , the only option is to reset and reconfigure the router .. hope this helps

I can't connect the wireless network even it shows that the wireless connection status shows as follows: connection status: connected network duration: going on signal strength: excellent However, the...

Your router's wireless encryption setting (WEP) has been changed.
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Having an issue getting my laptop connected to the internet. The wireless networks appear and it shows that i am connected to the linksys, however i get a dns server issue when i try to go online. It shows...

I see that your having issues with you wireless connection, you mentioned that it is an old model Router that has a B wireless signal and that you are connected to the Router but you get an Error about the DNS having issues, try checking your Routers Network Key, make sure that your Network Key in the Laptop and Router are the same.
- to get in your Belkin Router you must type in your Default Gateway on you browser ex. IE, Firefox then press enter after typing your Belkin's Default Gateway you should get a window prompting you for a user name and password

your user name would be admin and the password leave it blank then press enter unless you have changed the user name and password setting of your Belkin.
- check under wireless and security to see your Network Key/Security Key and copy what you have in you router and use it on your laptops network security to be able to access internet from your Belkin Router.
Hope this helps.

I bought this router 2 days ago. I pluged in the phone socket (with micro filter), and into mains,it worked perfectly on my daughters' (each daughter has a laptop - all work)laptops, and one of my desktop...

1) Make sure there is no low-pass filter from the phone line to the wall - it should be directly connected.

2) The laptop issue has nothing to do with the wireless router if it's actually connected. Try pinging the router. Open the command prompt. type ipconfig. Look at the laptop's IP address and the gateway. Try pinging the gateway (ie ping If the ping works, the connection is fine.

3) Can you open a browser window but not connect to a web page? This is due to a connectivity issue. If you can't even open a web page for whatever reason, its a problem with the laptop, not the connection. Hope this helps.

Connecting browser

I would try resetting the router to factory defaults(most have a reset button you can press). After resetting, if you still can't get outside acess, try to ping ip, and let me know if if that is successful or fails(Start>run>cmd, then type in "ping" without quotes)

Lost my connection to wire less router , the phones were down last week and after that we have to plug into router

powercycle your homenetwork. this step works 90% of the time. to powercycle your homenetwork, shut pc down, unlpug the power cable from the router, then unplug the power cable from the modem. give atleast 10 -15 seconds for your devices to refresh the connection. then in turning them back on, replug the power cable for the modem first, with for the sync light be turn solid, replug power cable for the router, then turn pc on.. try pulling up websites, you should be online now. just in case you still can't, bypass the router and connect the modem straight to the pc first. try connecting online, if you can't configure the modem to go online, once done, connect the router back to the equation and reconfigure its settings. you the should be up and running. i can help more if you'll tell me what's the modem and the router..

Cannot connect to internet

Well, the ISP really should be able to help you here, since the equipment is theirs... Did you ad for a technician to come out to service this connection?...

Some of these routers come with a RESET feature, a button on the back of the router.. you might try resetting it back to its defaults.. If it has one, then depress it for up to a minute.. this should reset it configuration...

Let me know if you find it.. and we can go from there..
