Before going to the drastic last resort reinstallation,
find out exactly what motherboard you have by downloading Belarc Advisor (freeware), which will give you the info to get to the manufacturer's site to download the drivers. For example, this is what it says about mine:
Board: Acer Grapevine
Serial Number: LXAXY0X10172000A5E1601
Bus Clock: 166 megahertz
BIOS: Acer V3.50 02/13/2007
It will also tell you all your hardware s
with serial no's and codes for software. To remove the problems caused by your first try at the fix, try system restore to a time when your computer worked.
Acer support stinks, and will not tell you what is on your computer, and my list downloads which you already have installed.. If you try to use their automated troubleshootin program, you are aiming for the looney bin. Worse than useless.
After you determine your motherboard serial no and manufacturer, go to the manufacturer's website to find out how to download upgrades or reinsall drivers. Acer has a backup on your C drive in a hidden partition of all the programs whch came with your computer. if you didn't originally create backup disks, you still may do so, and just install the programs you need.
Acer sold a lot of cheapos with Vista loaded with only 512 MG ram. If that is the case, they also send out software wich conflicts with Vista. You are doomed to mayhem unless you inslall at least another GB of RAM. And dont buy it from Acer. Identify what you need with Belarc, then go online to identify a cheap source. Hope I didnt get to you too late. Aspire pretends they dont have live help, but they do. Call Acer customer support

and if you get a rep who won't help you, demand to speak to a
supervisor, If they tell you it is a Microsoft
problem, not theirs, they lie--all preinstalled microsoft programs
are serviced by the computer manufacturer, not microsoft.

try goto bios setup and load " bios setup default' and press "F10" coputer will restart.
when same problem encountered. try to reinstall the utility driver of the system, the chipset, smbus and other related drivers.
by doing this you should provide CD/DVd utilities enclosed to your system.
Or you can download drivers at the www.acer.com in the support and download option.
if still errors persist.
you should reinstall the OS of your system. to fixed all errors pertaining therein.
(note: reinstalling will remove all important files so back up before continue.)
