Do a visual inspection on the capcitors on motherboard. Then make sure you have ECC registered ddr2 ram installed with matching "R" rating on them. matched in size also. (mb)

Find the owner's manual:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ws670/en/index.htm

There you will find a table of beep codes and what they mean.

If your system has a builtin video use that to configure the add-on video card.

You should go to bios setup then then find there the "primary video adaptor" (something like that) then select PCI express/PCI.

save and exit. uplug the system then connect the monitor to the add on card. your own way.

good luck.

I have a dell precision 670 that beeps on start up and then I get no video. In some case if I were to pull the plug, walk away and then come back in a few mintues to do a startup I can get it all back but...

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the onboard)

If you hear any beeps these can indictate where the fault is.
either of these sites below will help you further with that

Beep codes Pc

More beep codes

Power up the pc and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.

Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it

The 3 beeps is an indicator of, most likely, a memory fault. This could be caused by incorrect memory configuration (unsupported RAM type or speed), not fully seated RAM, or the RAM itself has been damaged in some way. Best advice I can give to you is to open your case and verify that all Memory Modules are fully seated and locked into position. If they are, next step would be to remove all but 1 chip, and try turning it on. If it turns on, then one that you removed is the culprit, if not, that particular module may be the culprit and change it for another. If, after all memory modules tried has not allowed the computer to start, I would recommend taking it to a service center to be checked, as they would be able to verify the MB has not gone bad with using a module they know to be good.

Hope this helps!

Have you tried a differnt video card?  Also disconnect everything including the hard drive to see if the system will POST.  If it does, them start connecting 1 item at a time.
