Mine is frozen also. I havent been able to use it so it has not been charged in a while. I hooked it up to the computer and now when I turn it on it is frozen on the screen with the alligator looking thing and will not do anything. I can not turn off the power or anything. I tried uninstalling the battery and then putting it back in and still have the same issue.

Same problem with Sansa c200 (2 GB):

    -it is frozen

-the computer does not recognize it as being connected (so cannot try the formating advice)

-only the dog/ dragon screen comes up (tried pushing all the buttons)

-can only turn it off if holding down the on/off button for longer than 10 seconds

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem! It froze after playing an album. The screen was blk but the pad lights stayed on. I held the power button down for 10 sec and it shut off. I hooked it up to the computer and the screen came on and said connected. This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened to me and I have noticed that it only happens when I use the HOLD button..?..Haven't tried to use it yet since it froze ( still recharging) Would appreciate any help or ideas with this thing.

PLEASE Help with my sansa c200 mp3 player!

Hello,

The Sansa c200 has 2 versions, version 1 and 2.

Check the version of the player:
Go to Settings > System Info.
Information for the firmware version and SD cards support:
For 01.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards
For 03.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 2) - up to 4GB microSDHC cards
Note: Firmware is not interchangeable.

Manual for c200v2 series:

For deleting files connect your player with the computer.
When running Windows Media Player 11:

1. Check the automatic SYNC routine for your player.
How to get to the SET UP SYNC
When viewing WMP11 in full mode select SYNC or LIBRARY in the top of WMP11, seeing the Sansa player listed on the left.
Right click on the player and select SET UP SYNC... to go to the SYNC options.

When "Sync this device automatically" is selected, all playlist in the computers' Library will be transferred to the player again, even the previous deleted files. Disable this function to prevent unwanted SYNC.

2. Remove playlists from the library in set up sync, to get the playlists you would like to keep on the player.

Tip

For Version 2 Sansa E200 Series and Version 2 Sansa C200 Series

As you have notice, these version of player will not have the USB Mode / Mode ( FOr Rhapsody Players ) and / USB for sansa C200 series. If you want to have your player detected by the computer as a removable disc drive or as a MSC drive you can perform this easy steps.

For Sansa E200 Players and C200 version 2 Players.

1. Enable the Hold Switched for it to show a red color.
2. Press and Hold the Rewind button the " << " then connect to the computer.
3. Connect the player to the computer and dont let go of the Rewind Button " << " , you will notice that the player would be detected as a removable drsc drive in the My Computer Window.

*For Load Main Image Failed Problems and player Freezing on the Refresh Database Screen will be post later*

Sansa c200 series – Computer/OS Not Recognizing
Connect the device to the PC in MSC Mode
View/c200: Turn on then press and hold the rewind button while plugging to the PC
If that fails, unplug the Sansa from the computer. Uninstall all the Sansa software in the add/remove programs section of Control Panel. Reinstall the clean version of the software from Sandisk’s website – make sure you get the files for the c200 series. Then replug the Sansa and try again. The root of the problem is that Sansa has one set of drivers and Windows has another. If you plug the mp3 player into the computer before installing the Sansa drivers, the Windows drivers will trump the Sansa’s.
