Re: screen saver problems boot problems

Ok the disk check can be turned off in the bios setup
when you turn it it it says something to the effect like
"Press Del to enter setup"

what ever key it ask you to press press it..

in the setup change the first bioot device to HD0 or hard drive
Change the Floppy seek to off..

as per the screen saver,,
Try changing the screen saver to another one
If that fails turn the screen saver off

If that fails try a system restore to a date that this problem was not occuring..

eighter memory or processor..

Win xp on boot up goes to blue screen quickly then reboots

It sounds like a driver is causing the problem or a new software install, turn the PC on and when you hear the beep press the F8 key, you should get a start menu, select safe mode, if this gets you in use system restore to take it back to a date it worked.

Can not open to recover...? n i dont know how to solve this problem.... (vista - Dell Precision T3400)

  1. Boot from the Vista install disk
  2. Choose your language settings and click "Next"
  3. On the bottom of the screen click the link "Repair Your Computer"
  4. Select the Vista installation to repair and click "Next" and it will launch WinRE
    • The "Load Drivers" button will open a mini Windows Explorer, which can be used to search for drivers in case they are needed to access disk drives or other components. This mini Explorer is also very handy to perform file copy/move operations and change file-attributes.
The following options are available in WinRE: Startup Repair - It will repair the boot manager files and restore critical files required for booting Windows Vista.

This should solve basic bootup problems.
Or you could also do a Complete Repair which replaces your current Vista installation.

Turn on the netbook the first screen offers f2 or f12 options then it goes black screen with a cursor at the top. at this point nothing works

It asking you if you want to go into the bios (setup) or to choose a boot option.

Choose the boot option and select hard disk drive 0. If it doesn't boot, you're hard disk has probably failed.

You can test by inserting a bootable diagnostic (UBCD4Windows) disk, or re-installing the operating system.

This will underscore whether you HDD as failed just wiped.

No login screen

As soon as you get past the bios screen, start clicking F8 to get a boot menu. Boot into Safe Mode.

Then right click the C:\ drive and tell it to do a full disk check with repair.

It will say it has to do it on reboot. Reboot, allow disk check to run and see if the problem is fixed.

If not, put your Windows disk back in and click Start > Run > then type sfc /scannow and clikc OK.

When finished, run windows update and reapply all service packs.

Computer screen saver

If you're looking for a folder in which to make a screen saver accessible,

drag ad drop the file [or unzip the file] into: Logical Drive, i.e.,

Local Disk C:\ WINDOWS.

Once you place the screen saver into the WINDOWS folder it'll be

accessible from START.....CONTROL PANEL.....DISPLAY or

Right Click an empty spot on your PROPERTIES

.....SCREEN SAVER.....then click the downward pointing arrow

under heading "screen saver" and it should appear in that list.
