Question about InFocus SP-LAMP-017 Projector Lamp for LP540, LP640, C16

2 Answers

LP 540 Every time I start my LP540 it will run for 3-5 seconds and then shut down. The display will read "Retrying...." and it will come on for another 3-5 seconds and then it will keep cycling this way. Why does this happen?

I did reset the lamp timer. When I push the start button the fan comes on and the display says "powering up" then the infocus screen will come up briefly the lamp will shut off (no LED blinks) and the display will say "Retrying...". Thanks so much for responding!

1. Have you recently changed a lamp and if so, Did you reset the lamp timer and is your filter (if it has one) clean?
2. can you hear a FAN start when you turn the unit on?

Back to the fan question.....do you hear a fan start when you turn the unit on? I suspect this may be the ultimate issue.

ASK Proxima C420 shuts down after 30 seconds. No indication of overheating or lamp problem.

Might be a problem with the video input. Try a different cable. If HDMI, you will need a really good cable for HDTV or 3D, and they are very expensive. My 12 foot cable cost $180.

InFocus LP 540 is extremely dim

Dim image is normally due to a defective lamp assembly. I'd recommend removing the lamp and inspect its condition. You'll notice a black corrosion build up around the filament of the bulb.
