PLEASE HELP!!! Dead purifier

I really can't imagine what happened. It was working fine, I moved it a foot away and it just seems dead. I tried another plug in where something else works, and the purifier still doesn't. No sound, no nothing.

we own the ecoquest breeze AT. we ordered it from a person on ebay
selling a bunch of them. the unit worked for several days then just
stopped truning on. we replaced the fuse, but it didn;t help. any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. so far the cheapest repair
price we've been given is $159 no matter what is wrong with unit

Not really dead but isn't fully purifying.  My fan works but the purifier has become very weak and inconsistent even when set on "manual" mode.  I'm not electrically inclined what-so-ever but have always kept it clean.  I was given 2 more Living air classics and they seem to also have the same problem.  Could it be something as little as a fuse?

Seems like a silly suggestion, but did you check to make sure the tab at the bottom of the filter in the back was pushing the safety tab all the way in. My unit is very picky. If I shift the unit while cleaning it plays 'possum on me. Scared me a bunch at first until I realized that it just wasn't pushed in quite far enough to disengaging the safety tab.

The machine is fixable its just troubleshooting now, if you have a volt meter check to see if you are getting 120 volts through the cord to the switch, then see if its getting voltage pass the switch

Xl-115 Automatic setting not working?

your sensor board has failed , a realy common problem , most if not all are dead and no parts are made for it ...... you do not need the sensor anyway it was only installed as a knee **** reaction to fda worrys of ozone levels over 0.05 ppm in bedrooms . so the board was installed to cut at 0.05 ...... it was a failure , so a bypass switch was added to get around the problem board ... just set on man , adjust for your sq ft ... you will be fine

Red light wont go off

Sharper Image recalled the units because they couldn't prove in court how they clean the air based on a report relesed by Consumer Reports. They lost and had to pay all the legal bills.

Ionizers have been proven by the EPA to not only be ineffective for cleaning the air but can be harmful to use as well.

Consumer Products Safety Comission is going to issue a report by the end of the year on them and their decision could put an end to ionziers sales in the U.S. altogether.

XL-15 Classic Living Air emmitting Foul Odor!!

Ionizers do cause a bad odor to happen. I work in the copier business and do work around machines that can cause an ozone to happen when there are ran. Copiers like ionizers can cause an ozone to happen because the air particles are being electrically charged. The smell isn't good to be breathing in as well.

Here is an EPA report about ionizers

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to be making a decision about the health effects on ionizers by the end of the year. Their decision can effect selling ionizers all together.

This industry should have been regulated years ago and after what happened to Sharper Image this year due to their arrogance it isn't doing the industry any favors. They went out of business because of Consumer Reports findings and tried to sue them for it.

If you really want the air in your house cleaned, the best way to do it is using a hepa filter.
