PANASONIC PROJECTION MONITOR TV

I turn on my tv and within 3-5 seconds it turns back off. After i initially turn the power switch on, the power switch light flashes about 3 times and then kicks off. Can anyone give me advice on how to fix it?

Usually 3 blinks means convergence, however it should continue to blink. Not shut off. You will probaly need a service manual you can get one through this link for 10.99 along with free unlimited support. If you choose to get your manual you will have to go back to the site and request that they email it to you instead of mailing it out. With your manual they will also email instructions on how to obtain your free support. . Youre probaly looking at a regulator that feeds the IC. I am one of the support techs at servicemanuals also. Heres there link,

Most of these have a shutdown feature built in and if you unplug the set, plug it back in and turn it on manually look carefully at the power light on the front when you turn the set OFF.

It should blink a specific sequence: 3 blinks, a pause and 3 blinks etc.

3,3 and 5,5 are the most common and mean different things are wrong.

Let me know if you are able to see the error code.

My panasonic pt-56hx41 tv will not turn on. All it does when you press the power button the red light will come on for a few seconds and goes off. After that it will not do anything untill you unplug it...

projection TV`s have integrated protection circuits
built into the circuit design, these circuits turn the
power off automatically when a fault has bin detected this
is in order to prevent a more costly repair, these circuits monitor
power supply , vertical and horizontal deflection
over voltage, or x ray, and also faults with convergence circuits.
Diagnosing these faults require test equipment and a good knowledge of
electronic repair techniques, and also a repair manual.

Turns on and within a second goes out

Bad capacitors. They're cheap. Look for the ones closest to where the power cord comes in to the main pcb board. This will be your power supply circuit. Change them! They're probably dried out. If they're bubbled up, they're also bad. They're so cheap though, just replace them all.

Power problem

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

If the front power light is blinking three times then your TV has a problem with the convergence. You can get the correct replacement parts and full step by step photo instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com

Has anyone had problems with connecting an 'HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF + RCA L / R Audio Extractor Converter (HDMI input,HDMI+ Audio output)' to a Panasonic PT-53TW53? I have a TiVo Premiere hooked up to my Panasonic PT-53TW53. I use the HDMI out, and RCA R+L outputs on the TiVo, and hook up to the digital in connections on the TV. The conversion of the HDMI out is via an HDMI to DVI cable. This has worked perfectly for years, but recently I wanted to disconnect the TiVo and replace with my Roku or Amazon Fire TV. Both have a single HDMI output. So I purchased an AGPtek HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF + RCA L / R Audio Extractor Converter (HDMI input, HDMI+ Audio output) box, hooking up the HDMI output from the Roku or Fire TV to the input on the extractor/converter, and simply disconnecting the HDMI to DVI and RCA R+L outputs from the TiVo, and plugging them into the outputs on the converter/extractor. The converter/extractor has a 3 position switch: PASS, 2CH audio, or 5.1CH (via and SPDIF or Toslink cable). I have had 2 of these converter/extractors, and with both the Roku and Fire TV I got the same results with both converter/extractors: With the switch on 2CH, which is where I understand I should get HDMI video and 2CH RCA audio, all I get is the RCA audio. No video. If I switch to PASS I get video with no audio. Of course on the 5.1 setting I get nothing, since the TV does not support SPDIF. Yet I see reviews all over Amazon indicating folks are using this converter/extractor for this very purpose, and it is working fine. I can't possibly imagine that it is some sort of incompatibility issue with the TV, since the TiVo has worked (and continues to) fine for years. Any ideas?
