Well my cod 6 is not working ive wiped it and allsorts and it only sais clean disc wen i have

Unfortunately when you remove so many layers from the disk, it becomes unreadable. This is what it sounds like to me. I would contact Gamestop as I hear that they might have a way to help you in this situation.

I think your recording head failed, you should stop using the deck and get a similar used one which works, repairs are usualy not cost effective.
Prodigital in Philadelphia does repairs, I paid about $250 for a replacement loader unit installed + shipping.

If the game starts find, but then it later says failed to read, then it's most likely a problem with the CD itself. Try giving it a good clean and trying again. If that doesn't work, get a CD resurfacer and run the disc through that once or twice, and then try it. Should work fine.

Now if it DOESN'T work, then it's the laser inside your console. Try getting a laser lens cleaner and running it through your xbox a few times. If this doesn't work, contact microsoft, because your laser might need to be fixed and/or replaced

try a few things first, the issue is that the disk decoder cannot get the information of the cd lan surface this is due to either a bad laser unit, or a very direct lens. cleaning is simple but if the disk cleaner didn't work you'll have to open the unit and wipe down the lens with alchohal esd safe, get at electronics store. sometimes their are stickt subtsances that get on cd discks and are transfered to the lens when it is reading cause the close proximity to the surface at high rpm's good luck.

This means the disc is not spinning, replace the 5V motor or the optical lens has conked out. The display LCD is OK.
Looking at another angle, the motor plus lens is most likely error in that case a change of internal fuse will solve the problem........sodeep
PS: if its the lens, buy a new set !

Possible reasons: disc inserted up side down, dirty disc, dirty lens, faulty pick up laser

When it loads the cd does it say loading before it sais no disc? if so, it may be the laser assembly, you can try cleaning it with a cotton bud dampened with alcohol like ethanol, if that doesnt work it is likely the laser assembly needs replacing, if it loads and unloads or sais no disc instantly, look at the sensor inside the drawer, (needs to be dismantled) this could be a microswitch. I would personally look at the laser and clean the lens and while you are in there, clean the wormwheel and guide that the assembly glides on, there could be dust on that or the grease may have dried and the laser cant reach the TOC, regrease them lightly, look for any belts and just replace them..Hope that helps Phil

well, this might help.

turn the console off (standy by, leave the switch on the back on). make sure the controller is plugged in. hold the power button. you'll hear a beep and then should hear two quick beeps (not three, if you hear three, try again). this works for me about 75% of the time.

now you should see a screen with 6 options. pick restore files. click yes and let it do its magic. this may work, it may not.

boot to the disc and follow the onscreen instructions, good luck!
