Re: the sreen keeps skipping

Try the 'System' or 'P/N' key on remote to switch video modes.
These units also have poor power supplies. If your handy with
PCB repair check the capacitors. Be sure to replace any 10v caps with 16v (same uF rating) as they are probably for the 12v bus and 10v caps will soon fail.

Help with dvd player DRC282 remote code

I purchased this same DVD player (DRC282) and none of my universal remotes worked for it. Since I was lucky enough to buy one without a remote, I ended up purchasing an RCA universal remote (RCR3273). Once again, none of the codes worked so I had to unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and hold the Standby button for 15 seconds to return it to it's factory settings. I manually searched through 71 codes before I found a match but the play, pause, rewind and many other functions failed. I tried again skipping over 71 and found the right code at 115 tries. That one had all the functionality I needed. You should try the same strategy with your Comcast universal remote. Skip the first match and keep going until you hit the second manual match.
