no just the normal cycles (in other words the water pump seems to be operating properly) there doesnt appear any codes during the wash cycles other than the led time display goes to 1 minute and then will remain there. but during the entire cycle the machine does not run.

  • DUNIN Jan 15, 2008

I used the exhaust term simply to indicate that water comes into and goes out of the machine seemingly normal but as mentioned thats all that happens hence i concluded the main control board is out(needs replacing) it doesnt seem to have any other defective symptons. thanks .

Maytag bravos x econocserve wont go through all the cycles and then you have to select the drain and spin to finish the clothes

You may be over sudsing the machine and it thinks the water is not drain and stops. Run a empty load on a cold water cycle and not hot water. then cut back on the soap. if you use fabric softener the cut back even more.

Mah5500bww manual

You might try opening the little door where you add soap. When the machine is plugged in, a solenoid on the water valve is activated. This solenoid may be faulty and you should see water running through the area where the soap, etc is added. If you do, you may need to replace the water valves on the machine.

Is there any kind of recall on a Maytay front loading washer, model #MAH6500AWW? I am having problems with mildew in the rubber part and terrible smelling water in the bottom.

The cleaning process for your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer, for example, requires some time and patience. Over time, your washing machine will need to be cleaned. It can develop offensive odors through multiple wash cycles. This makes the washing machine less effective at cleaning the clothes you put into it. Maytag offers some sound advice for cleaning your front-loading washing machine.
  • Pour 2/3 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach compartment of the dispenser drawer of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer.

  • 2

Run your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer on the "Clean Washer" setting. Press "Start" to start the cycle.

  • 3

Leave the door open once the cycle is complete to allow the inside of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer to ventilate and air dry.

  • 4

Look closely at the gray seal of the Maytag Neptune front-loading washer's door opening. This seal can have a buildup of debris or detergent residue.

  • 5

Spray the seal with an all-purpose appliance cleaner and scrub away any debris or residue with a cloth or scrubbing pad. Dry with a clean cloth.

  • 6

Remove the soap dispenser drawer. Press the release lever and lift it out to clean.

  • 7

Take out the inserts and rinse them and the drawer thoroughly.

  • 8

Wash with a mild soap and cloth to remove any residue. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

  • ALWAYS LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN WHEN NOT IN USE! This prevents the mold and mildew from forming once you get it cleaned.

    Light flashing halfway through cycle

Start with the basics. Do you have the right detergent and the right amount of detergent? It sounds to me like that could be it. Too many clothes or not enough clothes could do it too. These new washers weigh the load and make an attempt to fix problems by stopping. The motor over amps with suds problems. It has to run more cycles to get the water clear. Yeah the machine checks the water. So if you have too much soap or the wrong soap or the soap in the wrong portion of the dispenser that could be causing it and then their could be a clogged pump filter.

I think that the problem is that these washers use too little water for rincing. Concentrated detergent residues are drying-up, solidifying on internal surfaces, including exhaust tube, and smell like...

I've got a Maytag with a similar issue.. Try this: Take a 1/2 cup of automatic dishwasher soap powder (Such as Cascade) and toss it into your washing machine without any clothes in it.
Run a whites, hot water cycle with an extra rinse to see if this will break down some of the buildup and remove the smell. You may want to run a second cycle without adding soap to clear the drain lines.

The correct way to start the wash cycle

we have just purchased a Fagor dishwasher also - the instruction manual is worthless.

in regards to the 2 thin tubes, we just inserted them in the gallon jugs that the soap/rinse agents comes in and it works fine. just make sure the clear tube without the label goes in the rinse agent and the labeled tube goes in the soap jug. we did drill a hole in the top cap of the jugs and pushed the line thru and that helped keeping the tubes in the jugs and minimized the mess if the jugs fell over.

in regards to the temperature problem, we found that running it thru a couple of cycles before you start the actual dishes helped get the water temperature up faster. it seems to like to start with normal tap hot water first, so the 1st couple of cycles get the cold water out of the line.
