I have a P50HD Vizio. 2 years old. Out of nowhere ths screen changed from a perfect picture to a grainy/grey with a slight flicker. THis happens in all modes no matter what is plugged in. When I cycle thru the various inputs the tv is know slow to respond, instead of snapping to av 1 or HD 1 it responds like a slow blink... I can still see some color but barely. any ideas???
Once minute my Vizio P50HDM was working the next minute the picture was barely visible. I called Vizio and they gave me a number for a repair company. Their company gave me a $650 estimate. I called a few other local placed and they said that this is a very common problem for this model TV. All the places gave me an estimate of between $600 - $700. I called Vizio to complain, but they are not interested.
Hope you all have extend. warranty... Good luck

have the same problem. 2yrs old and it just went dim, also it now appears to have blotches. I was told the TV is bad needs a $800 repair. looks like costco is getting this one back. 100% satisfaction guarantee when I purchased it!
having the same problem - but the picture went completely blank after a very loud electrical sounding snap. System is plugged in to surged protected and grounded bar. We're digging for receipt but we're thinking we're at the two year warrenty limit.
i see red flicker in the back ground
i have really good sound but no picture but when i run image cleaner in the menu and go back than i get black and white picture but moving across the screen
I just paid a service shop $825 to repair my Vizio P50HD after a pop and no picture. The repair shop replaced the power supply circuit board. After the repair, I brought it home, and now it is going from a perfect picture to a snowy red tinted picture. I'm not sure how much I'd be in for this time, but I have a feeling that it's time to abandon my Vizio!
i want to kill myself same problem
I have exactly the same problem. I contacted vizio and have been told that it will be 650 to repair it. Seems a little crazy as the tv is only 20 months old.
I have the same problem. One second the TV was working perfectly and the next the picture is barely visible. I called Vizio and they hooked me up with someone who said it would be $650.00 to fix, without ever looking at it. I called a few local places and they said that this is a common problem for this model and the anywhere from $600 - $700 is the going rate to fix it. I complained to Vizio, to no avail.
I am having the same problem with my 2 yr old vizio I heard a pop and the picture first went dark and then the next day there was no picture at all. My brother who got the exact same tv around the same time lost his to this same problem after 6 months. Someone I talked to at Vizio said that they have heard this happening a lot to that tv but there was no recall on it.
My Vizio P50HDM ( 2 Yrs old) did the exact same thing. Â Picture started diming and then a pop lost everything. Â Vizio referred to to someone who said $650 to fix. Â I think we should do a joint complain to VIZIO. Â My email is [email protected]
I had the same problem with my Vizio P50HD - heard a loud pop and picture and sound was gone. Fortunately I purchased the set from Costco and they covered the repair cost.
i was playing xbox 360 and then a loud pop and picture went black with sound. 1900.00 Vizio paperweight.
i have the same problem. talked with vizio and they gave me the same price but i am worried, will that fix the problem without looking at it
I had the same problem. This is the second time. the first time they replaced (VIZIO) the TV but it has been 2 years since then. I guess that's about how long they last. Two years, cna this be fixed?
Same problem here with a 23 mo old 47" LCD. Pop then no picture. Controls light up when turned on but cant turn off and no picture. My warranty says one year. Does Costo take these back after almost two years?
