My printer does not print

This could happen from a variety of different reasons, but usually it is a temporary glitch between the printer and the computer.

First, try powering down the printer, then turn it back on, and try again.
Next, try rebooting your computer, then try again.

If you still have trouble, then print a test page. You can do this by following the directions in the printer's owner's manual, or from selecting Start / Control Panel from your Main Menu, then clicking on the Printers icon. Follow the directions from there. If that works, then the file you are trying to print is probably corrupted. Try to re-save it under a different file name and then attempt to print again.

Paper jams on my brother 7420

solution depends on where the paper jam occurs. Look under the "Troblshooting " section, chapter 11 page11-7 of the manual:

So, what can you do when this happens? Luckily, you have a few options you can try when you need to get your printer back "online."
The first thing you should try is simply turning your printer off, wait a minute or so and then turn it back on. That may fix your problem right then and there. If not, try disconnecting the cable that hooks into your computer and then reconnect it. After you do that, you'll also want to restart your computer to make sure everything lines back up. If you're still having trouble after that, try sending something to your printer to print and when you see the printer icon pop up in your taskbar, double click on it. Then go to the File menu and make sure the option of "Work Offline" is unchecked.
Another thing you can try is right clicking on that printer icon and clicking the choice that says "Set printer online." Or, if all else fails, there may be an actual button on your printer that can help you get it connected again. If your printer has one, it will say something like "Online" and you can press that button to reconnect your printer so that it will print once again. Now, all printers are different, so don't hold me to that, but if your printer does have that button, it's an easy fix for this type of problem. Hopefully your printer situation can be fixed with one of these suggestions, but if not, you can always refer to your user manual or contact the manufacturer for additional help. Good luck, my printing friends!

Put in new ink cartrages but printer still won't print.

Same problem- & I fixed it!

My printer had all new cartridges and acted like it was printing, but only blank pages came out. Since I had followed all recommended trouble shooting steps, the Epson help center told me I had to take it to a repair center, and most likely replace it, saying that it was probably the actual printing head that was clogged and since it was a non-removable part, couldn't be replaced. Instead, I did this- try it!

-Remove all ink cartridges.
-Dip a cotton ball or q-tip in rubbing alcohol, and drop a couple drops on each ink head (the points sticking up that the ink cartridges stick onto.)
-Dab it dry with another q-tip, then repeat.
-Reinstall cartridges, and voila, it might work!
Mine worked PERFECTLY after this 5 minute procedure, no skips, no blots, nothing. And no repair center, and no new printer! Good luck!

Cannot print.

ITs communication problem, check the cable, and check the driver could be corrupted, reinstall the driver to make sure, and try different cable to connect.

Trouble with dell inkjet printer j740 (printing)

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Margins not recognised

Hi lerona - I have a 5600C series HP printer. You might try these tips:
Do a Print Preview to be sure the document looks right on your screen, then in Print Setup, down in the Zoom box check the Scale to Paper Size to be sure it isn't set for the wrong paper size. There's an arrow to scroll to the size you're printing on.

Then click Properties, then the Paper Quality tab. There's an item that says "minimize margins". You could try printing with the box checked (if it's not now), or unchecked (if it IS now) and see the difference. Click the Effects tab and be sure the "normal size" box says 100%, and that there's no check mark in the "borderless printing" box.

I print documents all the time, as well as photos, smaller sized items, cards, etc., and have had no trouble with the margins printing differently than my Print Preview shows on my screen. I hope these tips help you. Good luck, and feel free to email me if you have any success with my suggestions.

Can't get barcodes to scan?

have you tried different darkness settings? it sounds like you only need to turn the darkness up a little.

Why won't my printer preview photos to the computer?

this is not an easy problem to trouble shoot like this, there are a number of possible reasons for not being able to use the scanner. Assuming the machine is working and is turned on I'd try reinstalling it's driver and software, although this might be a harsh solution to a small problem it is likely to work because all the settings will be set back to deafault. Good Luck
