"stopped" in status field

I have been successfully putting songs on my son's MP-C883 MP3 player since Christmas morning, but I've run into a snag. There is one song that will not synch. "stopped" shows in the status window immediately and nothing further happens. I've put this song on my other son's MP3 player successfully. Other songs transfer. I put a new battery in the player, just in case this was the issue. I cannot find an answer to this problem anywhere. Can you help?

Re: "stopped" in status field

It might be due to the memory being entirely filled up that there isn't enough room for the song you've tried to install, therefore, it might not install all the way on some of the MP3's where others will not install it at all because their system senses not enough room in there to fit it.

Have you tried to delete some space? Also, do you still own this device since it has been a few months since you've posted your question.

Thanks for your patience. Let us know how things are going for you.

You have to make sure the audio files your putting on the device are MP3 format or uncopyrighted Windows Media Audio files..if its anything else, it wont play on the device.

I have been able to sync mine, though it wouldn't transfer some songs. It would sit there trying to convert it but wouldn't. So I tried the alternate way to get them on. I just did a drag and drop and all the songs played fine. I just had to be sure to hold the play/hold/stop button for about six seconds before it would turn on.
BTW all of the songs including the ones windows wanted to convert played fine this way.

Try to re-title the songs as you upload them onto your MP3 make sure they are not the same name saving onto your device. That can add conflicting info which can create the havoc you are exp.

Let me know how that goes. We're looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thankfully that doesnt sound like a terribly bad situation compared to others on here so that can give you a breathe of relief! :)

so when the mp3 is hooked up and windows media player is open there is a long box on the side of the screen and drag the songs you want into the box and when you got all the song in the box press start sinc. and with the itunes problem put a blank CD in the computer and open up itunes there is a small button on the bottom of the screen that says burn and it will put all the songs on the CD then close itunes and rip the song from the CD on to the computer and then just drag the songs like on the first step i told you.

Coby mp3 player problem

Write the songs to a CD (or a CDRW) first, then re-rip them to Windows Media Player/iTunes/whatever as mp3s, or unprotected WMAs.

Honestly it's easier to burn and re-rip than remove the copy protection. When you burn it to a CD, the DRM goes away, and you'll have a new file that actually plays on your player.

Download the proggy for the unit and format the memory, If its a usb unit that needs no drivers and self installs that you can browse try deleting everything you put on it and try again 10 songs at a time. Most likely there is a corrupt file in there.
