No water in door

I'm not getting any water out of the tap in the door. i've taken the hose connection apart where it goes into the bottom of the freezer door and when i push on the switch in the door i get water out of the hose. but it doesn't make it to where you're supposed to fill your glass. i've run a wire up the hose and it stops about 6-8 inches from the end of the hose. is there some kind of valve that is in the door and stuck closed just before the end of the water line?

Re: no water in door

I emptied the door and then warmed the whole thing with a hairdryer... worked like a charm! I concentrated with 'heat' (I had it set on warm) on the upper part of the unit behind the dispencer and then finished it off by heating the bottom of the inside of the door - thinking that heat rises and it would, in turn churn through the pipe.. then I turned the thermostat to off - like you would if you were doing a full defrost - came back in an hour and did one final pass with the dryer - I now have water after a year of putting off calling the repair guy...

Re: no water in door

No there is not a valve there.i've recently been running into this problem.what happened is when they make the door, the outer and inner is laid flat.then from the bottom, tubes are inserted into the bottom and expanding foam is shot from the top to the bottom.sometimes a cap is installed after to make it look good.the problem is when they miss a spot it can make that line freeze solid in the door and you will never get it to your glass.try defrosting the fridge for 24 hours(unplug it and open the doors).if you can get water out then and then it stops again, the only solution is to replace the door

How How do I fix my broken water line that goes in to the freezer door to the water dispenser?

The line going into the dispenser is a 5/16 line. You'll have to remove the front of the dispenser on the door to get access to the line to unclip it. Once you have that done you can pull the line out from the bottom. At this point there are a variety of different unions, compression fittings, etc. to splice the line. After that you just feed the line back through the bottom of the door, clip it back in place, put the dispenser back together and your done.

I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The water comes out of the water valve slowly when I want to fill up a glass. Why? It's the slowest flow of water that I've...

Restriction in the line. Check the water line to make sure it's not pinched or kinked.
Often times too the water line from the refrigerator is connected to the cold water line of the house with a self tapping valve. Turn the valve off and back on a couple times to clear any restrictions.
If everything is ok with the water line to the refrigerator then you will need to replace the water inlet valve behind the refrigerator.

Water solenoid inlet valve is getting stuck slightly open, It's located behind the refrigerator on the bottom where main supply hose connects. You can first try tapping it and see if that helps otherwise it would need to be replaced.

You probably have a frozen water tube - the tube where the water comes out into the icemaker, on the inside. If you had water trickling down that tube due to air in the line then it could have frozen. I've seen this before. Check it out and defrost with a hair dryer if this is the case.

A hose is leaking on G.E. fridge - to water dispenser, I think

It sounds like someone has repaired this hose , due to the connectors . There should be no connectors except for 1 , below the freezer door . This hose can get hot from the compressor heat , and break .

My suggestion , would be to replace the water resivoir in the refrig section , behind the bottom crispers . This resevoir has a hose that goes completely to the water valve , without any connectors , and a hose that goes to the coupling under the freezer door , for the water dispensor . If you remove the bottom kick plate , the hose from the door , goes about 8 " to the coupling which connects to the line from the resevoir .

Ice Maker connection

Yes , the hose runs from the valve in the rear where the water line hooks up then under the unit to the lower corner of the freezer door up into the door to the water and ice in the door. you must have the hose together at the freezer door conection if it has been taken apart. This will fix your problem , let me know how it works.

Water dispenser...

I had the same problem, in reading a bunch of other similiar issues with various models, the best thing I found was that the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. I had to isolate this portion of my water line from the wall all the way through the frigde. It you unplug, take out screws from he back cardboard cover so you can follow the waterline through the fridge. The valves are pretty easy to take apart/put together. To take apart a valve, just press down on the ring around the valve the pull the connecting apart. To put back together, push the same ring down, then push the connection back together. To check the water flow, plug the fridge back in and have some one push the water dispenser as you check each valve. I suspect the problem is in the freezer door, so you should just check the valve under the bottom left side of the freezer door. From here to the dispenser the water line goes through the door. I used a blow dryer to heat up the inside of the freezer door just behind and below the dispenser unit for about 5 minutes. Try and run the water again and it should work. Good luck
