Question about Kenmore 3.2 cu. ft. Top Load Washer
My washing was making a high pitch squelling noise during the spin cyle. Now the spin cycle would not spin - nothing happened. I suspect bearings inside. Can something here be replaced or are all of these washing machine motors sealed units?
If your washer is the one you have chosen a Whirlpool built kenmore unit than your washer doesnt have any bearing that fail, It could be the spin tube mounting block becoming stripped ( most common) or a clutch or brakes not releasing issue (not likely). Also make sure the machine is agitating it may just be filling with water and draining and making motor noises. In this case the motor coupling has broken. both the block and coupling are inexpensive parts and easy to install.
