Question about Computers & Internet

Laptop will not respond..please help.

My problem is with my toshiba a135-s7404;

Basically, it stopped responding. When I attempt to boot it, the LEDs for the outlet(if plugged in obviously) and battery come on. Then the fan comes on, for about 4 seconds. There after, nothing happens. The cd-rom drive light stays on, yet doesn't open. I even attempted to use a recovery disc that came with the laptop, but it doesn't respond at all. No response from the monitor, at all.

I do hope you can help me, I just bought this almost a month ago. It is my first laptop.

thank you very much, Hayden

    No, I did not install any software, at all. Nothing was upgraded, as it was new and I did not have it long enough to have the time. I did plan on getting it upgraded by a professional.

    I did not pay much for this laptop $472.00, which makes me think, for some reason, they wouldn't take it too serious. This is my first laptop, I'm just worried about being "taken for a ride". I had bought this laptop on 12/17/07. I will have to look on Toshibas website to see if they'd cover the repairs, if Best Buy will not. They probably won't, though.

    Thank you for your help. If there is anything else you'd like to know, that could maybe help me, please ask.

    Again, Thank you very much.

    My laptop screen comes on, and invites me to click onto my user name to open the home page and go online, like I have done for the 6 months that I have had it. Problem is....when I click on Nothing Happens. I can't open IE, or get online.

    Did you install anything unusual before this happened? ie. upgraded RAM, played around with the BIOS? Left it on for a long period of time without adequate ventilation?

    Did you install any software just prior to the problem?

    It sounds like it may be a DOA (dead on arrival) since it is only a month old.

    One thing to try is put some head phones on and plug it into the sound jack. Boot it up and see if tells you the error message most new mobos will do that these days.

    Good luck

It is new and under warranty. Anything you do inside this laptop will void the warranty. Take it back to where you got it, and get it repaired under warranty.
