I have a Sony CD/DVD player DVP-FX810, and after putting in disc, it spins, but I've got no picture or audio. Any ideas?

It appears your player is not configured to TV. Switch on the TV and switch on the DVD. Insert the DVD/CD disc. Press the input button on the TV remote control. Keep pressing till you start viewing the picture. It generally depends to which video in put you have connected the input cables from DVD

Put dvd in player and just says loading and you can here it spinning but not loading

purchase a DVD/CD Cleaning Disc. This disc has a little brush on it to clean the dust from the laser head. I hope this helps you. Otherwise you will need to send it to a repair shop.

Sony dvp-fx810; install dvd; display says "loading", disc spins until finally stops, says "check disc". no picture at all.

You can try cleaning the laser lens.

CAUTION!! The lens is delicate! I wipe DVD lenses with ONE drop of glasses cleaner on a Q-tip and, starting in the center, wipe in circles to the outside. Do not press down! Do not force the lens side to side. It will move while cleaning but don't put more pressure than needed to move the lens 3/4 way down!
Its a cheap test to see if there is a fingerprint on the lens. (You won't be able to see it - does not take much)
If this does not help, it means it needs a laser or worse. Probably just replace the player.

DVD won't spin

Hey kgraham51,

If you haven't been having difficulty with your DVD player up until recently, you may wish to make sure that the DVD Rating function is not currently enabled. If this feature is turned on, playback would be prevented on discs with certain ratings (like PG-13 or R).

Should disabling this feature or changing the Rating setting fail to resolve the problem, you may wish to speak with a factory-authorized repair technician for further assistance. In some instances, if a player fails to spin an inserted disc it may be a sign that an internal connection has become loose or another electrical failure has occurred.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Won't read dvd

Try switching the LINE SELECT button from OUT to IN, then back to OUT. This solved the problem in which our Sony DVP-FX810 player showed LOADING for around 30-45 seconds and then CHECK DISC.
