When we shut the microwave door the light stays on as if it didn't shut. Then you can't start it b/c it thinks its open.

Same problem. The microwave thinks the door is open, and it will not work. We have a GE spacemaker that is only 3 months old. It has been great until this started. The only way to get the light off is to unplug it.

ALMOST IN EVERY OVEN THERE ARE TWO INTERLOCKS
FOR THE DOOR YOU MAY HAVE A BAD ONE. YOU MUST
TAKE IT APART TO FINE THE BAD ONE AND REPLACE IT.
