Ah you know, ea servers make you get your own account on line through them before you can play anything. Sucks, yeah, but no way around it. Hope that helps!
Problem seems to be the XBOX Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Run the game and play it once for about 30 mintues, then try again with the HDD inserted. It should now work.
The problem seems to be a conflict with the HDD or with the EA servers, as the XBOX Live account will try to connect to the now dead EA servers for this 2008 title.
If all else fails, you will need a portable memory card, not the HDD to play this game. It's okay if this is the case. Create an offline profile. The game no longer connects to the EA servers anyhow.
It's freezing as it tries to connect to the EA servers.
If you want to play single player, sign out of the PSN before starting the game.
If you want to play multi-player, at the moment it seems you can't, join the club :(
Quite a few people are having problems, not just on the PS3 http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/330817.page
to play on EA servers you need to create an account with EA first. first of all. if you have an ea account then try to log off of it, then sign on again.
if you don;'t then try to create an EA account first
try putting your xbox on the dmz in your routers settings. find your xbox's ip address and insert it into the dmz which leaves ALL security open but since no one can hack a 360 you don't have any worries, it worked for me! good luck
When this happens, you need to go to your dashboard because you arent even connected to xbox live. Then, log out and check your xbox live connection. One of the tests will fail and this will be your problem.
I had the same problem where I'm logged into XBox Live and I couldn't get into the EA servers to play any EA games. This is what worked for me:
1. Hit the XBox button and Log out of XBox live. 2. Go to the Settings tab and select System Settings. 3. Choose Console Settings then Clock. 4. Choose Daylight Savings and set this to OFF and back out. 5. Log back into XBox Live and the time will be set automatically. 6. Start you EA Game and Have Fun!!!
