Hi Chuck,

The nozzle on your printer cartridges are blocked. You need to run the Cartridge cleaning process. You have not mentioned the Epson model #.

Remove the Cartridges, Gently blow air on the nozzle area.

Printer worked fine until yesterday changed ink cartridges now black wont work tried all options

well changing the cartridges will not effect anything to the printer but the duration taken for replacement will. As in epson if you leave the printer without cartridges will clog the head nozzles. Did you remove the cartridges and turned off the printer and left idle for sometime? if yes then follow the instructions below

1. Print nozzle check test print to know which nozzles are not working
2. Head cleaning from the printer software.
3. Perform step 1 again to see the difference after cleaning

Then you have to take the print head out of the printer and clean the nozzles by using hot water in the Syringe and blowing the derbies out of the nozzles.

How do I print the nozzle check pattern?

Dear Sir,

plz flow this step for solve your probelm

These are the 2 important features for maintenance of your printer.

Nozzle Check

If your printouts are unexpectedly faint or have some missing dots or lines, it means that certain colour ink does not flow out nicely and consistantly. This is when you need to perform a nozzle check. If your nozzle pattern is good, then, your printouts will be good and nice as well. If your nozzle pattern breaks at certain parts, it means you need to clean the print head. Here's how to perform a nozzle check:
1. Click Start

2. Click Control Panel

3. Click Printers and Faxes

4. Right click your printer icon

5. Click Printing Preference

6. Click Maintenance

7. Click Nozzle Check

8. Click Print

9. Click Finish (if the nozzle pattern is perfect) OR

10.Click Clean (if the nozzle pattern breaks at certain places)

The following is the sample of good nozzle pattern and a bad nozzle pattern:

Good nozzle pattern:

Bad nozzle pattern (Head Cleaning needed):

Head Cleaning

Head cleaning is required when the nozzle pattern is not perfect. Usually, this action is needed when you have printed a lot or you have taken out the cartridge for refilling or for other purposes. Here's how to perform a head cleaning:

1. Click Start

2. Click Control Panel

3. Click Printers and Faxes

4. Right click your printer icon

5. Click Printing Preference

6. Click Maintenance

7. Click Head Cleaning

8. Click Start

9. Click Print Nozzle Patterns (to check the ink flow after cleaning)

Suddenly stopped printing in black though colour is OK.I've tried all the usual things!

the ink head is probably jammed with dry ink. wihen the head is jammed, a lot of ink will pool at the bottom right of the printer. clean that pool, and dab the black ink head with a damp paper towel, but do not rub. blow the ink head with a can of compressed air. run a nozzle cleaning, and nozzle check until the printer is printing better. the nozzle check prints out grid for each color. if the grid is complete the printer is fine. sometimes a few horizontal bars will be missing and cannot be cleaned.

Printer does not print magenta and cyan. Change

The print head is clogged.Try unclogging manually.Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around
with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If this not help you need to replace the print head. It's part number is QY6-0049.

Printer head removal

Hi Kenno23 - have you tried a standard head cleaning cycle and nozzle check? If so,what was the result. If not, try it. If you don't know how to, simply right-click the printer icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, and select "Head Clean". After this has finished select "Nozzle Check". Let me know how you get on, or if you've tried all this with no success, let me know exactly what you have tried.

Epson c62 print head clogged

The first thing is that you need to get some compressed clean air and blow all that mess up. There is compressed clean air that comes in a can kinda like wd-40 with a small straw. You can buy it at Radio Shack or some electronic supply place. That will do the trick. God Bless.

Print result with 3mm white line every 3cm row

Unfortunate, the cable catched in the printer affected the printhead part where black ink is coming out. Maybe some plastic got on the nozzles (from the cable), if you have some technical skills you can dismount the printhead (where the cartridges are put in) and check the downside of it, where the nozzles are, clean them with warm water and a soft tissue. Not with paper tissue.

If that doesn't help, it means that soft plastic-parts are clogging the nozzles, it could be fixed with steam blowed under pressure trough the nozzles, but it requires special equipment you probabily dont have. A printer service in your area could have such equipment, try and clean the printhead with their help.

This is valable if the nozzles arent damaged (scratched), if this is the case then Canon gotcha, because a printhead is very expensive, kind of the price of a whole new printer.

Let me know if it helped you on mail Rate the answer please.

And sorry if my english is not the best.
