Question about LG WM2077CW Laundry XL Front Load Stackable Washer

Have a tub main bearing needing replaced on Amana LWA40AW2

Have torn apart the machine and gotten main tub bearing off and ordered new seal kit and new main bearing. Does the sealant come with the kit, if not where do I get it, or something comparable? Also How do I get the new bearing on the shaft? (It was not fun getting the old one off) I don't want to damage the new one, but it needs to seat properly and I don't have a special tool for this.

Generally, if you need sealant, you can use any kind of automotive sealant. The best ones are the rubber-based gasket sealants. Be sure the surfaces are clean before applying and use only enough to make a thin bead. About the bearing: If you have no access to a press, you can often use a piece of pipe (either plastic or steel) which is just large enough to slip over the shaft and pound the bearing into place with a mallet. The pipe should contact only the inner (shaft contacting) race. Be sure it is square. You should lightly lubricate the area where the bearing will seat and also the inside lip and bore of the seal. .

Firstly i want to apoligize for the quesionable advice, some on here or elsewhere on the net fixed their washer and suddenly their are experts!!
Now Then as you know your washer is made by Amana/Speed Queen and has no agitator dogs(a quick search of parts breakdown will show anybody that) it also has no spin tube (aka basket drive),the brake pads which it does have would squeal only when washer stops spinning if they were bad just like squalling brakes on or vehicle the are quite till applied if bad,what the most likely cause of the noise is going to be the tub bearing,it is on the bottom of the outer tub. The inner and outer tub must be removed,it is advisable if replacing the tub bearing that you also replace the tub seal since it may not seal correctly once taken apart and leak badly.The hub taht connect inner tub to transmission must be removed so ya can remove the outer tub it requires a special wrench which is not to expensive but nothing else will work. IF ya want to go ahead and repair this the part numbers are;
TUB SEAL 35-5655-1

unplug power
remove front panels
remove screws holding top to cabinet
remove plastic tub cover by down slightly and lift tabs
remove agitator
remove bolts from hub under agitator and remove inner tub
use that spanner wrench and a hammer on nut on hub and remove nut in counterclockwise direction by hitting wrench w/hammer
lift off hub
remove rubber tub seal
remove all springs from outer tub by locking on vise grips and pull springs off
remove bolts holding outer tub to the to tub support
pull off outer tub and set down so bottom is facing up
remove old bearing and install new old
reassamble in reverse order

this is a link for parts breakdown

to order parts order from sears or for a cheaper price by a little rearsch from

Good luck, if you have any question reply and ask away.

As you can see it is listed as 3 out of 4 wrenches so it isn't an easy job and you would have to disassemble most of the machine to accomplish, and then make sure that you get everything lined back up and balanced. So unless you are extremely handy it is not something the average homeowner should attempt.

Spin cycle makes jet airplane takeoff noise. assume main bearing on spining tub is out. What part replaces this bearing? Diagrams do not mention bearing!

Bearings do exist but need a special puller to remove. If techs i n your area have it part numbers are 22002934 , 22003441 also needed is spacer 22002935 and seal kit 12002022 or else you need to order the whole outer basket

You have a tub seal that has leaked and the tub bearing has gotten wet and started to rust. This problem will continue to get worse and louder until the tub bearing falls apart. This is a major repair , the parts are not that expensive to replace, ( about $60.00 )but the labor involved is major. In some cases the washer is replaced for this problem. I also would not recommend you attempt this repair yourself. This job takes a professional about 3-5 hours, and sometimes the seal will leak again anyway. If you do decide to attempt this repair I will try to find you a detailed step by step guide. But, be prepaired to replace the machine if the repair fails. It is a major job. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but its not a horse so shoot it and get another one. that would be my suggestion.

Amana lw8203w leaking

Your LW8203W is at least 12 years old. It is leaking from the tub seal, Your machine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

If you have it rebuilt I would also put in a new belt, pump, brake pads, upper tub bearing and the tub seal it needs.

Call and authorized Speed Queen or Amana dealership and ask for a price quote over the phone. Then price out a new machine.

Your choice.

Leaking/ loud

Well the tub seal actually has the bearings inside of it. You can purchase one as a seal kit. However, replacing one requires specialty tools. I do not have the part numbers, but I do have a solution. Go to a local appliance parts store with your model and serial number (these should be located on the top rear side of the console) Tell them you need a seal kit for that model / serial number. When they bring it up, there are step by step instructions of how to replace your bearing seal inside the parts box. On the instruction sheet on the first page, it tells you what tools you'll need to do the job including the specialty tools and thier manufactures parts numbers so you can purchase them there or have them ordered.
