Re: Wont connect and software cd

To connect a router or a dsl modem to a switch you either have to use port 4 or use a utp crossover cable. As you can see on the Netgear FS605 the modem/router has to be connected to port 4.

The correct way to connect these devices is:

Modem > Router > Switch > Computers

I need a driver for this, lost cd

If you are connecting to the switch using network cable (not usb type), then you don't need software. Just hook up the cable to use it. If your system is not recognizing the switch. then may be you have to install network Lan adapter driver to your network card present in your machine(PC)

I hope this is helpful to you

I have a wireless network and I did not put a security passcode when I first started it and I would like to put a pass code to keep other users off my network. how do I go back and set a passcode?

Your router should have come with an installation CD and software for set-up. If you can find the Linksys folders under Start-Programs then run the set-up software in there, otherwise put the CD in to the computer again. If you have neither, you might be able to go download from the manufacturer website (or email them and ask for a copy of it)

You will need to connect your computer to the router with an ethernet cable, then reconfigure the router using its software. Towards the end of the set-up (after it has confirmed connectivity) it will give you the option to add network security - say yes and make sure you make a copy of the WEP key it gives you, all additional computers will need this to access the network.

I didnt find Manual of N7 MATRIX, why

Hi, I'm Max and I'm going to help you.

Since I found you a manual on the internet, I will share it with you, because you need it. First, you have to go to this site:

On the same page you will see a red button that has "Get Manual" written on it. Download it and there you go!

PS: You need a program that can run .PDF files. I recommend you the Adobe Reader which you can download from this link:

Wont connect and software cd

Here is a link to Netgear's support page for that product. Depending on the version you have their are documents pertaining to how to set up your switch. Example of documentation here. I think the issue you are having is that you don't have it configured correctly for your network. Follow the instructions and you should be up and running in no time. Their isnt software for this device, you just have to access the device and change a few settings.

Good luck,

I can't configure my CPS1600

the CPS600 is controlled and configured with the java based vConsole software. vConsole is provided by Avocent. I personally haven't worked with Avocent hardware much myself, but from what I can tell CPS1600 is designed for a UNIX based network. It should work on a windows networks as well, but you may need to do the CCM firmware conversion or update the CPS firmware to enable the device to communicate with a windows machine. I would recommend to forget about using hyperterminal and try the vconsole software, and if your still having trouble, then go for the firmware update and the ccm conversion as a last resort. Here is the link to the Avocent site, you should be able to find all the necessary software & firmware there. If you do end up needing a Unix system to configure the device, you should be able to get away with using the knoppix livecd linux distribution. Its a bootable cd with a fairly user-friendly version of linux.

D-link dss-5 setup (please help!)

you need to make sure that DHCP is enabled in the router settings and that your network cards TCP/IP is set to obtain an ip address automatically.

Also check that your computers workgroup is the same as your friends eg, Home or Workgroup.
