Question about Mitsubishi WS-65809 65" Rear Projection Television
My mits ws-65809 got hooked up to a nintendo64 & now the red is pushed over about an inch. i cannot adjust it left to right on the convergence menu, but it will adjust up & down. i think my problem is just the left-right adjusment. any ideas on how to fix it?
The Nintendo had nothing to do with a convergence problem. It could be in your conv generator board, but very unlikely. Chances are it's in the ICs.
Go in and find the conv ICs, they will be mounted on a
big heatsink and the wires going to the conv yokes will
most likely plug in somewhere closeby.
Conv ICs are the workhorse of the CRT RPTV, and it is
not unusual at all for them to need to be changed out
at some time in the life of a CRT RPTV.

The wires for the conv yokes at the CRT necks are the
thin ones. The thicker ones are for the hor and vert
sweeps, which must never be disconnected from their
If your beam loses sweep on any of the CRTs, it will
instantly score/gouge your phosphors on your CRT faces,
vaporizing the phosphors there and ruining the CRTs.
The beam is very powerful, but in normal operation
moves incredibly fast, not damaging anything. Any
slowdown of the movement of the very powerful beam that
draws the picture, acts like the searing vaporizing beam in Tom Cruise's War of the Worlds.
